embedded pictures in vorbis comments?
Hello,
I'd like to ask about the possibility of embedding pictures like an album cover artwork into a vorbis comment header. Since the data in a comment string after the separating "=" has a defined length, this could theoretically also be binary picture data. For example
"PICTURE=[...any binary data...]"
It only would be a problem for existing software which isn't

fixme:storage:StorageImpl_Commit (0x324d040 0): stub and Corel Draw
Hello All
I just made tests with Corel Draw 9 and 11 for 0.9.36 and recognized that this
fixme:storage:StorageImpl_Commit (0x324d040 0): stub
is already there. This prevents the Corel Draw line from copy and paste.
Until 0.9.22 it could be fixed using the native ole32 dll (don't know why this dll because StorageImpl_Commit is a part of itss)
After 0.9.22 something in wine prevents Corel

AW: .NET tagging library for ogg Vorbis and ogg FLAC
Hello,
I'm still working on the native .NET ogg tagging library. It already works well for non-multiplexed ogg vorbis, ogg flac and native flac files. Concerning multiplexed files, I've got two short questions:
1) Is it valid to insert an "empty" page into the stream which simply contains the binary value 0 for the page_segments counter, and which therefore contains no segment

base64 ALBUMART vorbiscomment (was Re: [ogg-dev] Ogg/Spots and Ogg/MNG)
Beside that, multiplexed logical streams suffer from pretty bad software / hardware support, isn't it?
It's better to display album art as text if the player doesn't recognize the base64 album art, than being unable to even play the file.

Compiling wine on debian-unstable amd64
Hi,
I try to build wine-1.1.26 on debian unstable (amd64) linked to ia32
libs. I installed ia32-apt-get and nvidia-glx-ia32 and all ia32-lib*,
which are buildependencies for wine-1.1.23 in experimental on i386.
The configure ends successfully but the build finished with
gcc -m32 -c -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -D__WINESRC__
-D_NTSYSTEM_ -D_REENTRANT -fPIC -Wall -pipe

putting the video into ogg multimedia
With both vorbis and libmng nearing stable status, I've been thinking
about combining the two to make a real multimedia format. What would be
involved in embedding mng in an ogg bitstream? From what I've read of the
documentation, there doesn't seem to be any codec-enumeration system. Do
we just interleave the packets and let the player guess based on the
headers which codec to try? I

new ogg-tools module in cvs
FWIW, I've just imported my mng-over-ogg code into xiph.org cvs. There are currently too tools, both under the new 'ogg-tools' module:
'oggmerge' is intended to multiplex files of various formats into a single ogg bitstream. Currently it only creates degenerate mng-over-ogg files. Next step is to add support for multiplexing with ogg vorbis files, and jack will likely be

Ogg/Spots and Ogg/MNG
Hi,
are these two dead, or just progressing slowly ?
The only code I've seen about Ogg/MNG was a player in ogg-tools, and I've seen
nothing for Ogg/Spots. I'd looked at those before adding bitmaps to
Kate, and I went
back to that a few days ago (storing subtitles as images from a dvd -
works great in
vlc, but I store images without compression). If they are dead, I'd be

Cover art
Hello to the people reading this list!
I am developing tagging support for ogg vorbis in Nero products and we are
currently thinking of supporting cover art in ogg files. What is the current
state of proposal for cover art in ogg files? Is this
http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/VorbisComment#Cover_art still the latest
information?

Goran

Sorry, I should have included some urls.
To briefly summarize, mng is an animated image file format from the people
who designed png, and is essentially a multiframe extension of the same.
png (pronounced 'ping') is a format developed by a group of volunteers as
a replacement for

ogg pic format (again).. here's why
I sent a little mail some time ago asking if there was going to be an ogg
pic-format, and you replied that PNG, MNG and JNG is good enough (sorry for
this late answer btw).. But, consider this: The ogg video-format (tarkin ?
where do you get these names from anyway ? :) ) needs a way to compress its
frames. Are you going to use MNG for that ? :) ..
If you had an ogg pic format, that format could
