OGM and GStreamer
Hi All! I have some troubles with OGG and GStreamer: 1) When I parsing ogg file with ogmdemux element, I recieve (in "pad-added" signal callback) video pad as "application/x-ogm-video", but not as "video/something". And that why I can't link It to the oggmux element and write new OGG file :( 2) I'am using "playbin" to play media file, but It

OGM and GStreamer
Well, actually most OGM files do have a subtitle track, often in multiple langauges. Also, re 2. Keyframe seeking in OGM is generally a bit rough because ogm files can contain almost any codec as the video track, usually xvid or divx. re 1. As a general rule you shouldn't be trying to make any more ogm files :) So chances are the ogg muxer is not accepting the connection, because it

New patches to Souffleur
Hello all, I am really excited to post these new patches since a lot of things have been done to the software lately. I know, I still have to write a README file but I am struggling to get a "basic" functional version out before I can concentrate efforts on documentation (I know, not the best practice). Anyway, here we go with the diffs and its comments: * MediaInfo.py.diff

SoC Subtitle editor project
Daraku, We've not heard from you since the mid term evaluation. Are you still participating in the Summer of Code project? If so we need to see something. Please let us know how things are going. -r

Souffleur goals
Silvia, I intend to release a binary on the 26th at most. Supporting at least 2 subtitle formats. Yes, I guess it would be nice to have a page and wiki at a place related to other xiph projects but if that is not possible, I have my own provider or even SF I can put things on. Other then that, I promise that on the next commit, a README file will be commited as well. Mesquita

Souffleur project patches
Dear all, It's been a while since I have started to look at the code for Souffleur that was dropped a couple of years ago by its former maintainer. I have now a few patches that I would like to be committed to the trunk of this project if approved. I am sorry if the modifications are not aligned with the project's main purpose but I had no one to talk to about its main goal.

Guadec 2005 and DirectShow Filters
Hello all, I have been trying to play the Guadec Theora files ( http://stream.fluendo.com/archive/6uadec/ ) on Windows with no success. At first I thought it was just the machine which I was trying it on, but I now have seen another machine play other Theora files (Systm, Ubuntu Below Zero) without problems, but treat Guadec as just being audio files. I do also have another machine here which

OGM and GStreamer
Hi Daraku, the answer to question 3) is that only Annodex files (see http://www.annodex.net/) have a text track in them in which subtitles can be stored. So, if you use anxrip on a ogg+skeleton+theora+vorbis+CMML file (which is an Annodex video), you will be able to get the text out using anxrip or if you are searching for a library, using libannodex. A subtitle editor would actually be used to

swfdec and clutter
hi, i started an experimental clutter-swf renderer project http://www.students.itu.edu.tr/~gumusuy/clutter-swf-0.1.0.tar.bz2 using swfdec-0.6 In fact this project is a part of bigger clutter media project. For less dependency i configured swfdec by ./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-maintainer-mode --disable-gtk --disable-mad --disable-ffmpeg --disable-gstreamer --disable-vivified

theora sprint
hey, Adam here from FLOSS Manuals (http://www.flossmanuals.net). We write free manuals about free software and in August (10-15) we will hold Book Sprint (http://www.flossmanuals.net/booksprints) about Ogg Theora. We will write a really good manual (book) about Ogg Theora in 5 days. The event will be in Berlin. We want to cover a lot of stuff, but we hope to get our teeth into at least some of

Attn Packagers: Dependency change from gstreamer-0.10 to gstreamer >= 1.0
Hi all, The next release of Wine will include a commit which changes our winegstreamer dshow module to use the modern gstreamer 1.0 API instead of the long-deprecated gstreamer 0.10 API. dshow is used by some games and applications, including Microsoft Office, to display videos and play audio. Wine's winegstreamer allows applications that use dshow to support a wide variety of media through

Attn Packagers: Dependency change from gstreamer-0.10 to gstreamer >= 1.0
Thank you for the hint. Setting PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/pkgconfig before ./configure works for me. encoders
hi everybody! i have two questions: 1. which encoders do you recomend? i have tried most, and i am pretty unhappy with all of them :( . thoggen only works on linux and is very unstable (crashes always during the encoding process) and most frontends to encoder_example dont work or are very buggy. ogmrip also doenst look very promising since it seems to convert dvds into other lossy formats

Plain Speex, or GStreamer?
I wasn't able to find anything in the list archives, please forgive me if this question has been asked before... Our app needs to support multiple media types, so GStreamer would seem to be the obvious choice. However, voice quality is paramount for us. Are there any disadvantages to using the Speex plugin for GStreamer as opposed to directly coding to the Speex API? In

(K)Ubuntu 11.4 x86_64 compiling wine gstreamer
Since the latest wine builds wine don't finds the gstreamer-dev files. When i try to to compile wine 1.3.15 wine finds them but not for wine 1.3.27. I had a packages installed that are needed to build wine ( i installed them through apt-get build-dep wine1.3).This problem also happens at the building of the latest ppa packages for ubumtu amd64.
