ipsec nat-traversal
It seems to me that ipsecnat tunnel type is not complete. Latest drafts of ipsec nat-traversal use udp port 4500 for nat-traversal communications. (It''s called port floating). That is needed to get rid of ugly ipsec passthru devices. Now ipsecnat opens port udp/500 from any source port. And I think ipsecnat won''t work at all with gw zone defined? I''m not sure about

Shorewall 1.3.10 Beta 1
There''s a lot new in 1.3.10: 1) You may now define the contents of a zone dynamically with the "shorewall add" and "shorewall delete" commands. These commands are expected to be used primarily within FreeS/Wan updown scripts. 2) Shorewall can now do MAC verification on ethernet segments. You can specify the set of allowed MAC addresses on the segment and you can

Hi folks, I am able to install workstation successfully on a dedicated SSD w/ GPT partition w/ UEFI boot using the latest `CentOS-8.2.2004-x86_64-dvd1.iso` from a bootable pen drive. New rpm, same name, how to update
I have to build my own rpms for the HIPL project. I update my copy of the code and make rpm. Thing is the rpm name never changes from patch to patch. Is there a way to have yum apply the new code as an update and not have to erase then install?

"undefined symbol: _pam_make_env"
Hello, A while ago I downloaded and compiled PAM 0.99.x and installed it over the default CentOS PAM installation. Of course, this premature decision led to root and FTP access being fully locked down and inaccessible. When I `su -`, it prints "su: incorrect password" before it gives me the chance to type a password. When I `sudo su -`, it prints "sudo: pam_authenticate:

Using yum to do downgrades
This is a yum question but relates to some work I am doing with CentOS and other recent discussions on this list so I though I would post here first. Basically I am attempting a Red Hat 7.2 -> CentOS-2 upgrade. So far it has worked like a charm. The problem is though that yum (no doubt by design) will not downgrade packages to the CentOS versions. The problem is that some old RPMs have

Now, I want to roll back to centos versions. ===================================== -bash-3.2# yum info glibc Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * addons: yum.singlehop.com * base:

"old" rpm version package handling broken!? (SuSE8)
Hi! Using (among others) the pretty old SuSE8.1, I cant get puppet to install packages. The rpm programms bahaviour was changed somewhen between versions 3 and 4 (sry, donĀ“t know exactly when) and the old version does not support the "--nosignature" and "--nodigest" params and "--oldpackage" is purely an update parameter so when trying to install a package I

Fedora 10 - update killed text input to Wine
This weekend I built a new machine running Fedora 10, its software was up to date as of Saturday morning (I think, maybe Friday evening). I installed Wine with "yum" (version 1.1.14). I managed to get Diablo 2 LOD installed and working (flawlessly!). I was happily playing this afternoon, then exited the game and ran "yum update". After the update text input did not work (the

Shorewall 1.2.10
This is a minor release of Shorewall. In this release: 1. A "shorewall try" command has been added. This command attempts to restart Shorewall using an alternate configuration and if that attempt fails, Shorewall is automatically started with the default configuration. This is useful for remote administration where a failed restart of Shorewall can leave you isolated from

IPIP Tunnel
Hi guys, I''m trying to setup an IPIP tunnel between a Cisco router and a firewall running Debian GNU/Linux Sarge with Shorewall 2.0.13. I''ve read and implemented the http://shorewall.net/IPIP.htm document, but I don''t understand why there should be at the same time a "tunnel" and a "tunnels" script. Shorewall still refuses to let the

IPSEC/L2TP Local and External Internet Access at same time through two interfaces?
Hey First, apologies if this went out twice. I sent the original email from an odd email configuration (essentially from an alias of what I signed up as). I searched and noticed that my post did not appear and I did not get a bounce back so I was confused. I waited a few days before resending. So apologies if this goes out twice. I am not trying to spam. I was hoping someone could help me with

Thunderbird in CentOS 7.4
With the current Thunderbird I can not connect to one of my IMAP servers that uses a self-signed cert. Virtually identical IMAP servers that use CA signed certs work I was a bit out of date when I updated to 7.4 and was running Thunderbird 45.6.x and it worked. When I connected from evolution (which I do not like) it worked. When I connected with my laptop still running 45.6.x it works. so
