Git branch with compiling fixes for win32
Not sure if the patches you already have address this, but here are some hacks I collected to try to get libFLAC to build on Windows for Mixxx: http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/build_windows_dependencies#libflac I have never actually gotten it to build on x64 and right now just use OpenCodecs' distribution (also mentioned at that link) which has Visual Studio files that build fine for me.

Problem building libFLAC on Windows x64
Hello everyone. Due to problems with libsndfile's handling of FLAC files, Mixxx is going to use libFLAC directly in v1.9.0. I'm the Windows packager and am trying to build libFLAC on Windows x64 using MSVC 2008 and the following steps that I've put together: http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/build_windows_dependencies#libflac The problems I have are the following: If I try to build the

[GSoC 2018] Improving debugging of optimized code
Hello, I'm an undergraduate student in the CS department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). Last year I successfully completed GSoC with Mixxx [1] and this year I would like to work on LLVM. I am interested in "Improving debugging of optimized code" [2]. I have gone through the kaleidoscope tutorial and I've set up a basic dev environment for LLVM and clang.

JSON response track title not encoded to UTF8
Good evening to you too, From the <ip-address>:8000/server_version.xsl , I get that the installed icecast2 version is 2.4.4. The source client I am currently is Mixxx version 2.2.4 - for Windows 64bit. Would you say I should redirect my question to the support team of the Mixxx program ? If you would like any more info, please feel free to ask. I appreciate your help and patience. All the

audio data encoding in FLAC: how complex ?
Hello ! The following algorithm describes Golomb(=Rice?) encoding: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golomb_coding#Simple_algorithm What is unclear to me is how many audio samples encoded with a fixed parameter (denoted 'M' in the wiki, which i presume is equivalent to the 'Rice parameter' invohed here): http://flac.sourceforge.net/documentation_format_overview.html But things are a

hostname resolution in libshout
We (Mixxx) have a user who reported an issue with hostname resolution. Here's the bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1391654 They say their hostname resolves to both ipv4 and ipv6 and they bound icecast to the ipv4 interfaces. (I'm not sure why they don't bind to both). Mixxx cannot connect to icecast presumably because libshout is resolving and connecting to the ipv6

Building a Rice Encoder/Decoder from FLAC
Hi all, I am interested in building a stand alone Rice Encoder/Decoder, using FLAC source code as a starting point. I've read the theory behind it, and I am very interested in info theory. However, I am struggling with how exactly I would implement the theory in code. I'm a newbie to computer science (only 1 year experience). I have read the format and documentation links on the FLAC

Wine lags A LOT when programs are started—and getting worse
Hi, I'm a pretty new Linux (Ubuntu) user, only a few weeks, and I few days ago I started having troubles with Wine. I posted this over at the Ubuntu Forums but haven't gotten a reply yet, so I thought I'd try here as well. I'll just quote my posts. First post: > First off I'm new to Linux, so sorry if you have to explain something twice to me. > > Basically my

next version
Hi all, For the next version I will be improving the rice coding in a way that will change the format. If you are building from CVS you will notice a difference soon. In other words, FLAC v0.4 streams and below won't decode on new players. The change will show up in the next release and I plan on the format moving to a beta stage, which means from then on, any format changes ***WILL NOT***

Residual bps and encoding speed
I changed the condition in *_precompute_partition_info_sums_*() functions from if(bps <= 16) to if(FLAC__bitmath_ilog2(default_partition_samples) + bps < 32) and then changed the 'subframe_bps' argument of find_best_partition_order_() in evaluate_fixed_subframe_() and evaluate_lpc_subframe_() as follows: evaluate_fixed_subframe_(): evaluate_lpc_subframe_(): 1)
