RE: [Shorewall-users] SMTP outbound problem (fwd)
I think we should add an FAQ entry for tcp_ecn.
I remember Tom giving a good description in one of his many responses
and there is mention of it in the pptp page, but I could not find the
response from Tom about different tcp stacks.
Thanks,

ECN Enabled at Shorewall.net
To test the new ECN Shorewall 1.4 feature that I announced recently, I have
enabled ECN on my firewall and on my mail/list server.
I''ve collected a list of IP addresses that were timing out on email
delivery and put them in my /etc/shorewall/ecn file. One user emailed me
this morning to say that his version of Short was reporting non-zero
reserved bits in SYN packets from

The following is taken from the Release notes for 2.2.3 (which will be
released in a month or so).

/etc/shorewall/routestopped file works. People understand how it
works with the ''shorewall stop'' command but when they read that
''shorewall restart'' is logically equivalent to ''shorewall

Hi Tom,
I nearly completed the test and installation related to
http://www.shorewall.net/PPTP.htm.
However, there is no serious problem when it is operated as it is in the
general companies, but there is Client Program for MS-Window that is
operated only by Public IP. So I am very concerned about it.
I would like to use Internet through Gateway in (B) as local
computers in (A) receive Public

Thoughts on Shorewall 2.0
I''ve begun to think about 2.0. I would like to hear any ideas about what
you would like to see included. Before I decide what new things will be
implemented though, I want to nail down what WON''T be included. Here is my
list:
a) Old Ping Handling. There won''t be any ''noping'' or ''forwardping''
interface options and there
