Performance tests
Hi Martijn, I don?t know if it?s just my Firefox or whether something breaks during the parsing of the email but none of your links seem to work for me. I feel it might have something to do with the spaces in the file names of the PDFs, which doesn?t translate well to URLs. Thanks, Lennard > On 3 Feb 2016, at 18:04, Martijn van Beurden <mvanb1 at gmail.com> wrote: > > Op

Performance checks
Hi all, I thought it was a good idea to get an overview of the developments since the release of 1.3.0, so here are a few graphs. The first was compiled with GCC 4.8, the second was compiled with MSVC 2013. Both were tested on a Kubuntu 14.04 machine, with an Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 (SSE support up to "version" 4.1), the MSVC compiles were run through wine, as I don't think

Merge html docs with website
Hi all, Here are two patches, one for flac.git and one for flac-website.git, which 'merges' them. This is mainly some cleanup work I did earlier on the website that were copied to the html docs, and documentation on new features (like Wave64 and RF64 support, --preserve-modtime etc.) that were copied the other way. *flac.git patch*

[PATCH] Fix website links
Hi all, This patch updates all pages of the website, updating the copyright notice to 2014, fixes *a lot* of broken links and fixes the issues raised by lvqcl on 19 Jun 2014. It's once again too large to send to the list directly, so here's the link: http://www.audiograaf.nl/misc_stuff/0001-Fix-dead-links-and-copyright-year.patch

Retuning compression levels
Hi all, With the patch I mailed earlier today, I found out a few adjustments could be made to the compression level settings.This retuning speeds up the encoding and improves compression, while not changing anything decoding-wise. Currently, compression settings are as follows -5, -l 8 -b 4096 -m -r 5 -A tukey(0.5) -6, -l 8 -b 4096 -m -r 6-A tukey(0.5) -7, -l 8 -b 4096 -m -e -r 6-A

[LLVMdev] r57974 & r57976 for PR2888
Pending positive confirmation in http://llvm.org/PR2886, I'd recommend that r57974 and r57976 be pulled into the 2.4 release branch and configure regenerated there. FLAC__BYTES_PER_WORD==8 test results
I wrote a patch that enables FLAC__BYTES_PER_WORD==8 in libFLAC/bitreader.c and libFLAC\bitwriter.c. The tests were done on an Intel Nehalem CPU, and flac was compiled with CGG 4.9.x. Average speed increase for FLAC__BYTES_PER_WORD change from 4 to 8: Decoding speed: ia32 architecture 16-bit .flac: -15% 24-bit .flac: -11% x86-64 architecture 16-bit .flac:

[PATCH] Support 64-bit brword/bwword
Here is the patch that allows to set FLAC__BYTES_PER_WORD to 8. This is disabled by default though. To test FLAC__BYTES_PER_WORD==8: open src/libFLAC/bitreader.c, src/libFLAC/bitwriter.c, src/test_libFLAC/bitwriter.c and change '#if 1' to '#if 0'. The value of FLAC__BYTES_PER_WORD must be the same in src/libFLAC/bitwriter.c and src/test_libFLAC/bitwriter.c. OTOH, their value in

[LLVMdev] Saving code for later execution
I'm using the LLVM C++ API to create code on-the-fly for execution. This works fine. But what if I want to save this code to disk, quit, relaunch my app at some later time, reload the previously generated code off disk, and execute it? How can I do that? Can somebody point me to some documentation or examples? Thanks. - Paul
