Announcing Digium/Asterisk World's Conference Program
Is this replacing Astricon this year? If so it looks like a pretty poor showing in comparison to Astricon Dallas last year. Patch to use Dante socks library
Since I use the Dante SOCKS library (instead of the NEC libraries), I decided to hack support for them into OpenSSH. Here is the results. Regarding IRQ problems; try googling for "Digital Audio Workstation" or "DAW"
As I'm sure you know, half the trick of googling is knowing what terms to seed the search with. In our case, what we needed was the correct term the audio industry uses to describe PCs used for editing. My wife studied to be an audio engineer a few years ago, and I studied over her shoulder. Learned a bunch of stuff, no doubt forgotten even more. Anyway, the term I was wracking my brain to

Win10 cannot access linux shares
Hi, When I upgraded from Fedora 22 to Fedora 25 my Win10 box lost the ability to connect to shares on the F25 box. The F25 box can still access shares on the Win10 box. F25 is currently running Samba 4.5.13 and I have a simple workgroup setup. Let's call the Win10 box 'fred' and the F25 box 'ethel'. When fred tries to access a share on ethel, I am prompted for username and

Data too big for a specific library package to handle
I know there are ways around the 'can't allocate a vector of size x GB' errors, but I'm stumped.? So my raw data has >7 million rows and eight columns. That's not a problem itself. Using the confreq package (for configural frequency analysis), I take my data and run it through the package's dat2fre function. This converts to a class called 'Pfreq.' ?(Looks like a

Problem with Polycom SP 500 and Cisco PIX
Hi everyone, I'm very new to all this, so please forgive me if I have the terminology mixed-up. We are preparing to install an Asterisk IP PBX over the weekend and I have an issue with the Polycom SP 500 phones we are trying to use. My problem is regarding DHCP. Our DHCP server is our Cisco PIX 501 firewall. I've specified option 66 and the phones connect to the FTP server

SAMBA 2.0.6 vs HP's ASU/9000 LanMan (battle rages on)
Found the solution to my 2.0.6 dying on me on SGI - SYSV_IPC needed to be #undef'ed in source/include/includes.h in favor of MMAP, seems to have fixed it. If I run the daemon in server mode, no prob. If I switch to domain mode (and use smbpasswd to join into the domain, per the instructions), I get the error indicating that the username/password pair was incorrect, as if I typed in a wrong

ices not quite random
Hello, I just got iceast + ices setup. I'm streaming from a playlist and it streams/play just fine, however, it doesn't seem to be that random. It is randomly picking through the first "grou" but not the rest. e.g. the playlist.txt file has full paths to the ogg files, which are in different subdirectories according to artist. But, it will only play from the first artist. Any

Supporting 32 bit data
Hi all, I just noticed this: https://sourceforge.net/p/flac/feature-requests/91/ a request for support of 32 bit audio data. The request has been around since 2008. Had two inial impressions: * Would adding this break brackwards compatibility too badly? Obviously decoding of 32 bit encoded data would not work with older versions of flac. * This is nuts. 24 bits has a dynamic range of
