Hello, everybody. This one''s got me stumped. What I''m trying to do is have
two networks--192.168.1.0 and 192.168.2.0--with SMB and WINS running between
them. So far I can mount SMB shares allright, but I can''t browse by WINS
names across the router. I''ve posted this question on Linuxquestions.org;
you''ll find the details there.

per user quota using LDAP entries
Hi List,
This is my first post to this list so please be gentle :-).
First of all, kudos to the developers of dovecot!
Im trying to implement quota, and I followed the instructions in the wiki.
My problem is the quota specified per user is not being honored, only the
global quota setting.
I do have an "quota = maildir:storage=204800" in the plugin area and enabled

Unable to use more than 1000 concurrent ntlm_auth processes
Hi List,
I'm running a heavily loaded squid server that uses ntlm_auth to provide NTLM authentication.
As load has increased over time, I've found the need to increase the number of ntlm_auth processes available to squid as well as the "winbind max clients" value in the smb.conf file. This has worked well up until now but seems I've hit some sort of limit.
If I keep the

Identically named users and groups
We have a Linux user and group with the same name (username prox,
group name prox) and a Samba share with "force user = prox" set.
Since upgrading from Samba 3.0.21b to Samba 3.0.23a, that share no
longer works. smbclient gives the following error when connecting to
the share:
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER
The Samba server logs the following error:

Routing all connections through a OpenVPN tunnel
Hi all,
I have set up a working OpenVPN2 connection between my Server and my
gateway at home.
Now I want all traffic to be routed through this VPN connection.
Currently everything is going through eth1 to the internet (to the gateway
of the University which forwards it to the internet :-).
We must use a prox-server and because of this I am not abel to watch the

Unable to mount root fs
Hey all,
I'am able to use pxelinux to successfully boot a particular kernel and
image on various IBM PC's ex. 6287-41U and 6591-34U. However, using the same
setup (ie. dhcp, tftp, pxelinux.0, pxelinux.cfg, networkcard, bootrom,
ram memory) on an IBM 6282-73U my kernel and image decompress fine but I'am
getting a...

Shell Requirements for Shorewall 1.4.6
The 1.4.6 version of Shorewall makes additional demands on the shell. I
have found that both the RH9.0 version of ash and the version of ash
that has long been available from the Shorewall download sites are *not*
suitable for use with Shorewall 1.4.6. The LEAF Bering version of ash on
the other hand works fine.
Attached is a small shell program that will allow you to test your shell

RandomForest Proximity Matrix
Greetings R Users!
I am posting to inquire about the proximity matrix in the randomForest
R-package. I am having difficulty pushing very large data through the
algorithm and it appears to hang on the building of the prox matrix. I have
read on Dr. Breiman's website that in the original code a choice can be made
between using an N x N matrix OR to increase the ability to compute large

RFC1918_LOG_LEVEL
I have tried (RH7.3/shorewall-1.3.12-1) both of the following in
shorewall.conf to eliminate ''rfc1918'' logging into /var/log/messages:
RFC1918_LOG_LEVEL=debug
RFC1918_LOG_LEVEL=notice
Neither appear to eliminate the logging.
Here''s what the ''logdrop'' chain shows:

DNAT/Redirect Question
Hi all,
I have a group of public IPs 80.x.x.209-80.x.x.215. My satellite broadband router has .209 and my Fedora Core 2 running Shorewall firewall has one network card with IP .210 and the other with 172.16.0.1/255.255.0.0. All network PCs have a 172.16.x.x private address.
I am new to shorewall and fedora/linux. I would like requests to public IP 80.x.x.211 to be redirected to internal IP

DNAT problem
Hello,
I have a problem. I have a webserver/firewall/internet gateway machine with shorewall. The local network is masquerated.
I am trying to get all packets coming from the internal network with the destination 133.211.9.10 on ports 80 and 110 (my external interface) to be redirected to the internal interface (192.168.9.2). My local network is 192.168.1.0/24.
