Hi, attached are patches that improve decoding speed a bit. The first patch improves the bit scan macro used for decoding unary values, the second one adds a GCC inline assembly for bswap and the third patch replaces the read_rice_block function. In my testing it turned out to be even faster than the _ia32_bswap function. If the code produced by MSVC is faster as well, I'd suggest to remove

libFLAC bitbuffer optimizations
Pulled from my Arch archive, this following patch seems to have made quite a difference in getting my ARM7TDMI chip to play FLAC (compression levels 0-2) on my ipod. I don't have benchmarks with hard numbers, but playing with skips vs playing without skips is a fairly noticeable difference. memcpy and memset on uClibc are optimized in asm for the ARM7TDMI in uClibc. Alright noted, I changed me code so that the state is created in the constructor and destroyed in the destructor of the object. However I'm still getting the same issue although I'm sure that would have bit me sooner or later. Just getting noise
I'm only doing one frame using speex_encode_int greatly simplifies my code I'm not sure why the sample I was working off of was converting the shorts to floats then calling the other encode/decode methods. About reducing noise..
Hello, When I decode a recoded sound encoded by speex, it has too much noise. The noise is "slightly" reduced if I set the quality to 10. How do I get rid of this noise? The code is as follows. Regarding problem with encoding / decoding
Hi, Tank you for your reply. I have tried the sample programs given the manual and done encoding and decoding a wave file. That is working fine. I have already read the manual and API reference. hey guys, I just compiled an application similar to sampledec.c (for speex 1.1.10) and it was fine but when I executed it, the app exited without doing anything. Just getting noise
I'm completely new to speex and I'm having issues adding it to my application. I can pass raw PCM and that works fine so I know my transmission code is fine however when I try to encode/decode using speex I get noise almost like a whining/buzzing sound. Higher compression modes from Flake
Hello Is it planned someday to implement additional higher (9-12) compression modes like in Flake? http://flake-enc.sourceforge.net/ It's not very important I think. Harddrive space isn't problem today. But it preserves other indepentent work done on Flac and give room for some extra albums on harddrive. I think development of flake is stopped. I plan to test my ~20 GB flac
