iptables v1.2.7a: Couldn''t load match `physdev'':/lib/iptables/libipt_physdev.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Hi, I''m running RH9 Linux and I''m having a slight problem with shorewall, i originally set it up as a two card configuration, but i have now bridged the connections in an attempt to get my WiFi network communicating with the wired network (eth0 and wlan0). I have followed the instructions for bridging from http://www.shorewall.net/bridge.html but when I activate shorewall i get

rules - access by mac address
Hi, At the moment I am controlling my LAN client access to the Inet by their MAC address. Currently I am putting their MAC address in the rules file - now the number of the PC that I want to manage is getting more and more and it is not practicle to do this way anymore. My question is, how can I have their MAC address in other separate file? Regards http://www.debian.org/consultants/#Malaysia

Few questions
Hi, I have a few problems with my shorewall configuration. First of all, the option maclist seems no to be recognized. I have this: ghostwheel /etc/shorewall # cat interfaces | grep -v ''^#'' - eth1 detect dhcp, tcpflags, routefilter loc eth0 detect tcpflags, maclist When I look at shorewall-init.log, I found out:

MAC address verification limitation
hi there. There are approx. 400-500 users in our network and we plan to insert all their MAC addresses into maclist and bind them together with IP address. My question is whether shorewall is able to process that much of MAC addresses without slowing the the network speed performance? thanks for your time. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Ftp Broken in Dmz
I have had a web server listining sql-1433, www 80, ftp-21 using proxy arp with sub-netting in a three interface DMZ. All these ports are in the rules file as ACCEPT. With one exeception that 1433 allows a few host from the net. 21 and 80 allow all net to dmz connections. The policy is DMZ to net ACCEPT This has been working great for about a month or more until I rebooted the

Dmz
Hello Tom, I am not sure if you can help with this but I am at my wits end. If you hit this site and do a force refresh (ctrl + F5) the site will time out and lose connections. Do the same on port 443 and it does not time out??? The web site I am reffering to is www.tituswill.com I think the only problem is port 80. Do you have any idea how to diagnose this I have sent a dump of just

Dmz
Hey Tom, I have successfully set up to servers on a Dmz practice network woohoo :). If I take out the proxyarp option in /etc/shorewall/interfaces Then Dmz can ping outside ip''s on the net but not and of my servers on network 66.224.62.96/27 (Other than its own gateway server 66.224.62.120) The reason I ask is to learn. I thought I would not need the proxyarp option for this to

Shorewall 4.0.0 Beta 4
I''ve uploaded Beta 4. It corrects a bad bug involving exclusion in the hosts file. In addition, it contains the first release of a new Bridge/firewall implementation that uses the reduced-function physdev match found in kernel 3.6.20 and 3.6.21. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \

Interface Configuration
Hello, You may recall some of My Dmz question around Thanksgiving. While I have configured a Proxy arp Dmz. I would like to practice with the routed setup you suggested Tom as your network was simular. Here is one of your quotes "The configuration of eth2 is largely irrelevant but you certainly don''t want to confuse things by assigning any default gateway out of that

maclist or rule question
Hi, I want to automate some of the maclist and rule functionality: User connects to the network and gets a DHCP address from the shorewall box. Using squid and redirection, all the user can do is go to a login page on the firewall User logs in correctly to the form on the webpage and a process captures MAC and IP address info from the dhcpd.leases file Once authenticated, a maclist entry and an
