[PATCH] Fix building with MSYS and MinGW(-w64); Improve Makefile.lite build system
Hello, This is a patch to allow building of the project using MSYS, MinGW, and MinGW-w64 with the following invocation: make -f Makefile.lite libFLAC libFLAC++ flac metaflac test_libs_common test_libFLAC test_libFLAC++ test_grabbag test_seeking test_streams utils examples This patch addresses eight points: 1. `uname -p` in MSYS returns "unknown" so we must use `gcc -dumpmachine`

The flacdiff and flactimer utils
Hi all, In an attempt to clean up the FLAC repository, I was trying to work out the importance of the flactimer and flacdiff utils. I think the flactimer util can be removed, but I don't fully understand the use of the flacdiff util. It seems I can't get it to work. I always get something like this: ./flacdiff file1.flac file2.flac got diff offset = 17 get error

[PATCH] Makefile: Move Makefile fragments into mk/
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com> Move the MCONFIG files into a mk/ directory and give them more descriptive names. This is purely a cosmetic change to make the 'include' directives a bit more coherent by making it obvious exactly which MCONFIG file we're including. For example, in com32/lua/src/Makefile we exchange the line, include ../../MCONFIG for the

Building FLAC with LTO
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Tried to do this, gcc complained a lot about undefined references. After a bit of mucking with the code, i came up with a few patches. This might be a good conversation starter. The build that i've got out of this does pass the testsuite. To enable LTO you just need to apply these (for non-W32 builds you probably only need one of the patches)

[PATCH 3/4] mk/efi.mk: Build gnu-efi with the Makefile
From: Sylvain Gault <sylvain.gault at gmail.com> The error-prone shell scripts for building gnu-efi are replaced by a Makefile recipe. This is accompanied with a small update of gnu-efi which, despite not strongly mandatory, avoid recompiling gnu-efi and all the efi subtree on each invocation of make. [PATCH 0/1] EFI access from Com32 modules
This patch adds to Com32 modules the capabilities of accessing the EFI environment The idea is simple, the EFI parameters "image" and "table" received by syslinux.efi's efi_main() are stored in the "firmware" structure, next they are retrieved from the Com32 module which is linked against the gnu-efi static library. The Com32 module can use the EFI

ACL: need additional samba option ?
Hi All, I need to setup the following rights behavior trhough samba and I'm currently stuck after lots of unsuccessful tests. Maybe one of you has an idea or a solution to this problem... Here it comes: - A share must be available only to some users belonging to the "project" group. That's easy: valid users = @project - There are several administrator-created

[PATCH] build: sort sources to build in a more deterministic way
It has been observed that binaries contents are depending on the order of linked objects. This order is caused by GNU make's wildcard function and the position of sources on filesystem. This change tries to prevent this kind of randomness. Also consider building using -j1 flag to make it even more reproductible. Change-Id: Ie8eee7f336e6f1fa2863c4150d967afd15519f1d Bug:

[PATCH 1/2] Fix pkg-config files to avoid overlinking
Libraries that are used internally by libFLAC(++) but are not part of their API should be listed in pkg-config "private" clauses. Otherwise executables that are linked dynamically against libFLAC(++) will have unneeded direct dependencies (overlinking). Based on a patch by Brad Smith from https://sourceforge.net/p/flac/bugs/397/ that I updated to only include ogg if libFLAC is

About libFLAC -> win_utf8_io dependency
So far I can see three ideal solutions of this issue: 1) Make Unicode support a part of the libFLAC API. In this case there will be no need in separate -lFLAC -lwin_utf8_io options, just -lFLAC will be needed. 2) Remove the dependency between libFLAC and win_utf8_io. In this case win_utf8_io will be linked statically to 1st-party apps, like other libraries from src/share:

From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com> Don't link against libmenu.a, it no longer exists as it was removed in commit 74518b8b691c ("elflink: Make ELF the default object format"). This fixes the following build error, make[2]: *** No rule to make target `../cmenu/libmenu/libmenu.a', needed by `hdt.c32'. Stop. Signed-off-by: Matt Fleming

To build it, runthe following from the extracted Syslinux source: $ cd ./com32/hdt $ make hdt.img As suggested by Pierre-Alexandre Meyer, all extra files required for building the floppy
