I can't read russian, but that part of the website seems pretty outdated, mentioning FLAC 1.1 as the last news item? I guess I would like to update the news section with a few items (I guess that's what makes a website looks 'fresh', I would love to make FLAC look like an active project :)) but it has to be updated in 4 different sections: 2 times on the homepage, once on the

Sourceforge website redirecting
All, At Erik's request I made flac.sourceforge.net just redirect to xiph.org/flac/ This will simplify keeping things up to date, since I never got the sf.net version updating from git. BTW, I notice the new site has a feed.xml, but no feed.rss. This is unfortunate since the old front page linked the rss version, and we've likely just broken people's subscriptions. That's

My current understanding is that we intend to keep the web site on flac.sf.net and have a mirror on xiph.org/flac. On flac.sf.net, we probably don't have SSI, so that's a vote for a static site. I am however all in favor of whatever can be done to

Thanks for looking after us! Hi Ralph, now it would be nice if you could use that new power to either turn http://flac.sourceforge.net/ into a redirect to https://www.xiph.org/flac/ or

[PATCH] Website patches
Hi all, Here are a few patches cleaning up the website. Most important is the change for the download page. There were a lot of unofficial/unsupported downloads for Windows and Mac in the 'official' section. These have been moved to the extras section. Second, I finally got the news feed working in Internet Explorer. It turns out, after quite some hours of debugging, that IE only

[flac 1.3.0pre2 pre-release] Updates to test suite
Seems time is going to be a constraint for me in the coming week, but I'll try and get more of these out to you as fast as I can get them written and tested. Keeping the patches in a separate branch for now seems like a good idea to me. Attached is a patch for 'test_streams.sh' On Tue, Mar 12, 2013 at 1:44 AM, Erik de Castro Lopo <mle+la at mega-nerd.com>wrote: > Jaren

[flac 1.3.0pre2 pre-release] Updates to test suite
Hi all, I'm currently going through the massive test suite, updating all the scripts making sure they conform to the POSIX standard. I've added a bunch of comments to them and have slightly changed/reworked some of the functions to make it easier to read and process. I'm also eliminating the use of 'echo' in favor of 'printf' since echo has many unspecified uses.

Sourceforge website redirecting
Olav Sunde wrote: > under download, most links still point to Sourceforge with 1.2.1 as newest Where? On this page: https://xiph.org/flac/download.html there are links to OS specific builds of FLAC on sourceforge, but all the main links are to Xiph. Are you sure you're looking at the Xiph page and not the old sourceforge page that may have been cached by your browser? Erik --

questions about flac code
1) There was the commit "Remove un-needed test for NULL before free" but even now there are many places in FLAC codebase that check a pointer before calling free(). Does it make sense to do something with this code, or it's simpler to leave it as is? 2) Some time ago I sent a patch that fixes potential memleaks in libFLAC, but despite this approval -

Encode wav to uncompressed flac
File size is not important for me. I need audio data from wav file and metadata in one file. How to encode a wav file to an uncompressed flac file? [PATCH website] Even more brands for links and sourceforge pages
Hi, Once more a patch much too heavy for the list. This will be the last addition for links.html for a while, I think I really got them all now. This patch adds a bunch of brands (some high-profile like Sony, LG, ASUS) that have at least one FLAC-playing device in their line-up. http://www.icer.nl/misc_stuff/Add-9-more-brands-to-links-and-adding-news-item.patch.zip Considering

flac 1.3.0pre1 prelease
Hi all, I finally managed to bite the bullet and roll a pre-release. Its here: http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/flac/beta/ I have personally tested this code on: x86-linux x86_64-linux powerpc-linux I have not yet done any work on making sure the changelog is up-to-date. That will be done between now and the release. What I'm after now is testing of this source tarball
