Are pointers to FLAC__int32 and int interchangeable?
There are following functions in bitreader.c: FLAC__bool FLAC__bitreader_read_unary_unsigned(FLAC__BitReader *br, unsigned *val); FLAC__bool FLAC__bitreader_read_rice_signed(FLAC__BitReader *br, int *val, unsigned parameter); FLAC__bool FLAC__bitreader_read_rice_signed_block(FLAC__BitReader *br, int vals[], unsigned nvals, unsigned parameter); * function FLAC__bitreader_read_rice_signed():

[PATCH] Makefile.lite: Fix building with MSYS and MinGW(-w64), Improvements
Hello, This is a patch to allow building of the project using MSYS, MinGW, and MinGW-w64 with the following invocation: make -f Makefile.lite libFLAC libFLAC++ flac metaflac test_libs_common test_libFLAC test_libFLAC++ test_grabbag test_seeking test_streams utils examples This patch addresses eight points: 1. `uname -p` in MSYS returns "unknown" so we must use `gcc -dumpmachine`

Bug fix and compatibility patches for 1.3.0pre4
Hi all, I tried 1.3.0pre4 with ICL on Windows and found some issues. Not sure if this is the right place to submit patches, but someone suggested this on the apparently dead SourceForge patch tracker. The first two are quite straight forward: - The ICL patch fixes a typo in bitmath.h and adds FLAC__bitwriter_write_zeroes to the external declarations in bitwriter.c. - The Ogg patch replaces

Building FLAC with LTO
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Tried to do this, gcc complained a lot about undefined references. After a bit of mucking with the code, i came up with a few patches. This might be a good conversation starter. The build that i've got out of this does pass the testsuite. To enable LTO you just need to apply these (for non-W32 builds you probably only need one of the patches)

bitreader optimizations
Hi, attached are patches that improve decoding speed a bit. The first patch improves the bit scan macro used for decoding unary values, the second one adds a GCC inline assembly for bswap and the third patch replaces the read_rice_block function. In my testing it turned out to be even faster than the _ia32_bswap function. If the code produced by MSVC is faster as well, I'd suggest to remove

Updated CFLAGS patches and make test compilation conditional
Hi Erik, I've found a middleground for the problem of setting default CFLAGS. I've gone back to setting them if {C,CXX,CPP,LD}FLAGS are unset at the onset of the configure script (i.e., the user hasn't specified anything) and then proceed to set them to the defaults as before. This has been suggested before: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/autoconf/2006-04/msg00022.html In
