Errors compiling flac in Visual Studio Express 2005
Hi!
I have trouble compiling the flac library using Microsofts free (yes MS
gives it away including the optimizing C++ compiler msvc8.0) Visual Studio
Express 2005.
I get the output shown below. Does anyone have a way to make flac compile in
VS 2005?
Thanks!

[PATCH] Fix building with MSYS and MinGW(-w64); Improve Makefile.lite build system
Hello,
This is a patch to allow building of the project using MSYS, MinGW, and
MinGW-w64 with the following invocation:
make -f Makefile.lite libFLAC libFLAC++ flac metaflac test_libs_common
test_libFLAC test_libFLAC++ test_grabbag test_seeking test_streams utils
examples
This patch addresses eight points:
1. `uname -p` in MSYS returns "unknown" so we must use `gcc
-dumpmachine`

[PATCH 1/4] Do not override CFLAGS, as CFLAGS is a user flag.

of building with more debug output information.
AX_CHECK_ENABLE_DEBUG is easier to use, and nowadays
Gnome has also switched to it from its own custom solution.

Patch for building on IRIX
Not sure if this is the right place to post this...
I have attached a patch for the build system which lets FLAC build on IRIX and
Cygwin.

H IV0,
we are using a lot of different cross-compiler (mainly based on GCC 3.4.x)
When I tried to cross-compile FLAC for non-i386 platforms (such as ARM), I use

plugin optimizations
Here is all-in-one patch, if this is a problem, i will try to make
separated patches.
Changes:
plugin_common/
* FLAC__plugin_common__pack_pcm_signed_little_endian
* accept FLAC__int32 *input[]
* supports more channels
* fixed clipping bug
(BTW, random number generator in dither.c is low quality, it
should be replaced, generator in replaygain is much better)

flac-1.1.0: libtool warnings
Hi,
And thanks for flac. There's a minor problem when compiling flac:
libtool warns about mixing up shared and static libraries. Typical
messages are:
*** Warning: Linking the shared library libxmms-flac.la against the
*** static library ../../src/plugin_common/libplugin_common.a is not portable!

xmms plugin, fileinfo
Here is preliminary patch for fileinfo for xmms plugin. Saving and
removing of the tag isn't working.
When saving, how handle id3v1, v2?
Display and edit more fields (e.g. performer)?
How handle genres? Combo with predefined values?

[PATCH 2/2] Update and improve autotools build
- INCLUDES is deprecated, and CPPFLAGS is an user-defined
variable, use the proper AM_CPPFLAGS instead
- Remove FLAC__INLINE definition, providing proper
replacement for MSVC compilers.
- Detect if we have C99 's lround and provide a replacement
for windows...

[lamont+buildd@hp.com: Bug#162718: flac_1.0.4-1(hppa/unstable): FTBFS: non-PIC code in shared object]
It looks like libplugin_common.a is being linked into the shared object
libxmms-flac.so. In that case, all of the objects in libplugin_common.a
must be compiled with -fPIC.

I tested my setup thoroughly and uncovered a remaining handful of
issues, though I don't think they are directly related to your commit.
(Though, removing plugin_xmms from the default build was helpful.)
With my changes in place, I am able to

not sure about the mad_fixed_t format, but probably. all samples
coming out of the FLAC decoder are linear PCM 32-bit signed ints.

[PATCH] Fix fuction prototypes/definitions with void argument
Hi,
the patch below fixes function prototypes/defintions with void
argument to shut up the heartful warnings by recent gcc :)
It doesn't cover all places, e.g. test directories.
The patch is to 1.1.2.
