FLAC: Windows wildcards support
Hi,
I have read this on the sourceforge site:
Windows wildcards support for FLAC and Metaflac *Private:
(?)<javascript:help_window('/help/tracker.php?helpname=private')>

No The Linux shell support wildcards but not the Windows
shell.
Would it be possible to add wildcard support for
Windows?
Example with Windows:
metaflac --add-replay-gain *.flac
Gives the following error:

Vorbis decoder sample code
Hi,
I'm a Pocket PC developer and have created a audio translator application on this platform. I currently make use of
an MP3 decoder engine, but due to heavy licensing fees I'm thinking of switching over to a patent free format.
Vorbis presents the best approach.
I read that tremor decoder has been especially optimized for embedded devices. I'd like to make use of
this and

FLAC: minimum system requirements
Hi,
I was wondering if the minimum system requirements are determined for the
FLAC decoder?
I ask this because I have some old computers and also a "older" Pocket PC,
so I was wondering how many MB RAM and Mhz CPU speed is needed to be able to
decode FLAC files without any problems.
thx

FLAC: headphones
hi flac list!
I'm not sure if this question can be asked here, but here you go (it's a
question for audiophiles only):
I encode CDDA tracks to FLAC and play them on my Pocket PC (PDA). I'm
looking for a high quality headphone to connect to my Pocket PC, but it must
be an in-ear one but not like these:

Re: multiple core support
it actually is complicated. the libFLAC api is not suited to a
multithreaded design because the i/o is stream-based, not file-
based. flac(.exe) is the file-based wrapper around libFLAC that
allows it to work on files. the way libFLAC buffers data is also
impossible to parallelize without significantly changing the api.
it would take a specialty file-based encoder using an independent
frame

Pocket PC 2003 lose stored password
Hi all,
when accessing a samba server (2.2.8a) from a Pocket PC 2003 you can give a
password and tell the Pocket PC to remember it.
But, if you switch off the device or remove the LAN-card the stored password
is lost (or send in a different way as Pocket PC 2002).
?
Maybe the procedure of sending the stored password has been changed,
??? because Pocket PC 2002 works fine with samba,

Difference in Encoding of files on Pocket PC vis-à-vis desktop
Hi all,
I've created a Speex decoder for Pocket PC so that I can play Speex files from within my .NET CF app.
But there has been a problem while playing the files on my Pocket PC.
I encode a wav file on the desktop using Speexenc.exe (Speex- 1.1.5) and then copy this file to my Pocket PC where
I playback using my decoder library. But the sound quality is extremely poor and completely

Pocket Outlook
Hi all,
Another user posted the same thing a few months back... after contacting
them, they said they never got it working.
I'm unable to get Pocket Outlook, or FlexMail 2006 working on Dovecot
0.99.13. According to the logs it connects just fine. With Pocket
Outlook I'll see the headers for a few seconds, and then it clears and
shows nothing. With FlexMail, which is supposed to have

RE: Difference in Encoding of files on Pocket PCvis-à-vis desktop
Hello Jean-Marc,
I encoded a 143 kb file on both the desktop as well as the Pocket PC using the default settings/
Here are the results.
Size : Desktop - 17.6 Kb, Pocket PC -17.1 kb (not much difference in size)
Now when I try to decode the file encoded on the Pocket PC, I get a message
"This doesn't look like a Speex file". However, when I decode the Pocket PC encoded file on

Here is my test project then.
To keep the zip small, I didn't put the flac files. Just copy the
flac-1.1.0 directory into flactest (so that the path flac-1.1.0\include
and flac-1.1.0\src exists in flactest). The project should then compile
as is.
All the code is in flactest.cpp. It's pretty basic. You'll have to
