Query on image link file mode?
Hiya,
will it be possible to add single song playback support like Monkey's Audio
Image Link File to FLAC+CUE? This will allow the playing of single songs
from 1 large FLAC file.
Since FLAC can already embed the cuesheet inside the FLAC itself, the next
step will be to allow the playback of the songs individually, allowing them
to be added to playlists when playing singles. Please make

metaflac
Hi List,
I am writing an audio player that exclusively plays FLAC sound files,
with CUE sheets. It is written in Python, so it is cross-platform, and
it is working very well so far. The soundfile IO is handled by the
Audiere library. For metadata (aside from the CUE sheet), I make system
calls to metaflac to do things like extract album art for display, and I
have a question concerning metaflac.

Icecast Source Client
Hello,
is there a Linux Source Client which can handle cue-sheet (or something similar to provide external metadata for one big source file) playback ?
The only working cue sheet player I have found was for Windows (Foobar2000 + the discontinued edcast)

W2K BSOD: Memory errors
Hi everyone! This is my first post to the list. Be gentle ;)
I run Windows 2000 Pro SP4 EN, on a 1400 MHz AMD Athlon Thunderbird. 512 MB RAM, not sure what speed though.
For a few months now I've been getting errors while encoding with flac. I use foobar2000 for encoding from WAVE to FLAC, with the help of CUE sheets. I can confirm it's not foobar itself that's giving the errors,

flac and metadata

The recent thread on archiving CDs with flac has prompted me to ask a
few questions about flac and metadata:
1.1) It appears that metaflac only imports limited information from a
cuefile. Text data (ie: Title, Artist) and any comments are removed
from the file. I can kind of see eating the comments, but why are the
perfectly valid text fields not

metaflac crashes adding cuesheet
(Apologies if I'm in the wrong place for this...)
I'm trying to use the abcde program to archive CDs to flac files.
(Each CD to 1 file, and ultimately multi-disk performances to 1
file.) It extracts the audio to a .flac file and creates a cue
sheet with track names & locations. However, when it tries to
run metaflac with the --import-cuesheet-from option, it core
dumps.

Flac-dev Digest, Vol 70, Issue 5
Hi,
Well - having in mind this is "flac-dev", I thought you are a developer and
writing an application for that purpose is quite trivial.
Anyway, CUE sheets are so simple, they can even be written by hand - the
minimal CUE sheet is very simple.
About the actual embedding - I haven't worked with metaflac or editing
applications so I can't give you any specific advice for that.

The latest version of my cue+wav splitter supports .flac files. Hope to
get it released this weekend. Will eventually be at:
www.lameb.fsnet.co.uk
It also supports .shn and .ape. I've seen shorten

Archiving CDs w/ Flac on Linux (and subsequent re-encoding)
This must be possible; not sure how to do it yet. :)
After facing the thought of going through my cd collection for a 3rd
time for re-encoding, it occurred to me that I should just flac the
whole CD and add a cue sheet, and then back up to DVDs. That way -next-
time I need to re-encode to any format, I can handle ~1/20th the discs,
compared to my whole cd collection. :)

perl, metadata and cue sheets
Hi, I am new to this mailing list.
I am adding FLAC support to the SLIMP3 player
(http://www.slimdevices.com)
and I had two questions about utilizing the format.
The SLIMP3 player is a network mp3 player with an open source server
written in perl. All audio must be re-encoded to the mp3 format before
the player can use it.
1. Do any perl modules exist to read and/or write the metadata in a

cuepoints: accuracy, titles and players
Hello,
I managed to insert cuepoints from a cue sheet and
check them with metaflac. I witnessed that the FLAC
headers then had additionnals sections (one for cuepoints
and one for seekpoints), but i could not find documentation
how the format used to store them (frame counts for both ?).
Anyway it seems that cuepoints must be specified
in MM:SS:fr format.
It would be nice if those could be

2 questions on flac files with internal cue sheet.
Hi,
I made backup-copies of several CDs.
First I used eac (exactaudiocopy) for exact ripping to a single wav-file with
cue sheet.
Then I used
flac --cuesheet=<cuefile> <wavfile>
to get a flac file with internal cue sheet.
I am on a linux system. eac is running in a vmware-windows (actually, eac is
the only reason that I have a windows version running).
At this point I have two

EZStream and Cue Sheets
I may have asked this before, but either I didn't, or I've
inadvertently discarded the message containing the answer, so pardon
please if this is a repeat.
Wil EZStream ever support cue sheets--a companion file containing
metadata information normally inserted into the stream from that
contained in the multimedia file itself? More play-out software is
including the ability to produce

Decoding via API from a single FLAC file using a cue sheet
Hello,
I have currently many of my CDs ripped to FLAC to replay them from the
computer. In most cases, there are single files for each track on the
CD. I like the idea to rip the CD to a single track and add a cue sheet
to the metadata which was recently discussed on the list.
How would I access specific tracks using this approach by means of the
FLAC (or FLAC++) API in my own decoder

EZStream and Cue Sheets
I could, but I have this big old Fedora system just waiting for me to
get LS working on it, so I think I need to concentrate on making that
happen. If it's hard, difficult, tedious, inconvenient, then that's
what it is. I want the cue sheet capability some way somehow, so I'm
just going to have to knuckle down and buckle down and do it. Right?

metaflac crashes adding cuesheet
Erik,
The command used by abcde is
metaflac --no-utf8-convert
--import-cuesheet-from=/home/me/Audio/abcde.50107806/cue-50107806.txt
--import-tags-from=- /home/me/Audio/abcde.50107806/track1.flac
but I get the same result re-trying without the --no-utf8-convert
and -no-utf8-convert.
Here's the cuesheet:

Fix cuesheet.c to allow metaflac_test.sh to run to completion
When reading the INDEX from the cue sheet, the format MM:SS:FF format is disallowed if the sample frequency is not a multiple of 75 because the index would only be approximate. However, 00:00:00 is _exact_ because it denotes the start of the track, so allow it as a special case. This allows metaflac_test.sh to pass.
