are 588 sample frames subset or nonsubset?
Hi
I am thinking of ripping albums to a single flac file with embedded
cuesheet. As track and index points have to be on a 588 sample boundary due
to the CD TOC standard working in 588 sample frames, I thought it may be
beneficial to rip CDs with a blocksize of 588 samples.
According to the format page on sourcefourge a stream is subset if

libflac doesn't find more than one metadata block
Hello, I'm currently doing a little music player using libflac and libao. What
I've currently done works as it should, but I have a problem where only one
metadata block is detected, even if there are more (it doesn't have the last
attribute set to true).
This is using flac 1.3.2 on Gentoo amd64.
The main code file is attached, it mainly follows the examples given with the

Hi,
Apparently the new presets are triggering an invalid free in
some code. I was running the test suite on ARM, and it gets
stuck with small blocksizes.

better seeking
When I was trying to find yesterday's xmms-plugin bug, i have noticed
that seeking in stream without seek-table isn't very good. With
attached patch it is much better.

problems with flac?
So I recently encoded my entire CD collection (over
7000 songs) to flac and I have found that 18 of them
have a strange problem. The files are corrupted in
some way.. They will stop playing abruptly in the
middle of the song. I've attached a listing of the
metadata and you'll see what I mean.
You can see that the seek points toward the end have a
bunch of zeros and I'm not sure

Ok, here is a patch waiting for new CVS :). It works fine for me, but

question regarding compression %
Hi,
For those of you who don't know, I now have an application on pocket pc using flac. Live2496 does realtime encoding while recording. Live2496 typically is used to record a digital source using the Core Sound PDAudio device. Links are now on the main flac page if you are interested in learning more.
I have a question. We have run across a 24-bit file that when we record it, flac level

Problem with CRAM and flac-1.1.2
A user of CRAM (http://swami.sourceforge.net/cram.php) sent in a bug
report related to decoding of CRAM files. This issue occurs with
flac-1.1.2 but not previous versions (such as flac-1.1.1). Note that
the same file is used for this test (hopefully ruling out any issue with
the encoder).
Details of the issue:
When calling FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single() the error callback is

ext3fs: Bad super block
I've got this poor ext3-partition which I can't access. I have tried a lot
of things but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. I've got quite important
files on that particular partition.
I can't even get the block groups from my /dev/hda3 with dumpe2fs!
It all happened after a crash. GRUB wouldn't give me the graphical UI. I
decided I had to get my dosbootdisk and do an

Getting subframe type=verbatim on 16 bit files
I'm using libFLACC++ and libFLAC and I think that I'm using the calls in the
typical order (see code below). But every monoe or stereo file that I send
thru I get files that are the same sze as the orginal wave files.
Doing a flac -a on the flac files I see that I get:
frame=9 blocksize=4608 sample_rate=8000 channels=1
channel_assignment=INDEPENDENT

Help upgrading to 1.1.3 (MD5 sum issues, album art corrupts files)
Hello all,
I recently upgraded the libFLAC used in my application Max (http://
sbooth.org/Max/) to 1.1.3 and added preliminary support for album
art. During the upgrade I evidently made some coding mistakes with
interesting results. I've combed everything over and can't quite see
the problems. I've become somewhat frustrated because my code didn't
really change

Exact FLAC subset constraints
I think you've found a bug, Bart.
flac 1.2.1 did not have any FLAC__format_blocksize_is_subset()
function, so the source you're seeing in format.c must be new. If the
format documentation you linked to is correct, then either the
specifications are self-contradictory, or the code is not
implementing the subset checks as described. My interpretation is
that blocksize bits of 0110

getting framesize in client
I have few notes:
It seems there is changed API in CVS again. So, what about adding
function like
unsigned FLAC__format_frame_size(const FLAC__Frame *frame)
which returns size of the frame in bytes. This can be useful, for
example, in xmms plugin to display current bitrate like vorbis plugin
does.
If 'PERFORMER' field is missing in vorbis comment, it would be nice to
display
