[PATCH] Fix Makefile.am altivec logic
Besides SPE (FSL e500v? cores) there are other powerpc processors
that don't support altivec instructions so only enable them when it's
100% sure that the target has it.

Patch : fix configure.in and Makefile.am problems.
Note : I'm subscribed to the list. Please don't CC replies to me.
Hi all,
I am trying to compiler current CV head on a PowerPC G3 Debain system.
Debian test has automake 1.9 which is a little more stringent about
errors than 1.8. The following patch has the following fixes.
0) Remove AC_CANNONIAL_HOST because it has already been invoked
earlier
1) Make sure

FLAC__lpc_restore_signal_asm_ia32_mmx compares 'order' argument with 4
and if it's greater then it jumps to FLAC__lpc_restore_signal_asm_ia32.
I wonder why the same wasn't done for PPC/Altivec:

Configure errors say to report here... (PR#11470)
Hi,
I'm attempting to compile R 2.7.0 on my G5, which is running OSX
10.5.2. Yes, I know there is a precompiled binary, but my experience has
shown that if I hand-compile ATLAS on my machine and then link R against it
when compiling, R runs faster, hence me compiling it myself.
Anyway, I have this set of errors:
checking X11/Intrinsic.h usability... no
checking X11/Intrinsic.h presence...

[LLVMdev] Generating DWARF info
I'm using llvm-2.5 on OS X 10.5 and having a problem getting debug
info from my compiler into a resulting executable.
My code flow is:
LLVM API -> Assembly file .s -> gcc to .dylib
I'm using DIFactory to generate the debug info, and my usage seems to
match what clang's CGDebugInfo would do. In my resulting assembly
file, I see the DWARF sections with apparently valid

[LLVMdev] LLVM triple and Apple ld64 behavior
Hello,
I wanted to know about the reasons Apple dropped the support for "arm" target in its ld64. After searching in the sourcecode I found out that ld64 supports armv4 armv5 armv6 armv7 and its subtypes. The code shows that -force_cpusubtype_ALL for ARM targets is no more supported in "src/ld/options.cpp") and static const ARMSubType ARMSubTypes[] doesn't include

Configure error, Ogg not found on Mac OS X
Hi all
I'm trying to compile and install libvorbis 1.3.4 on Mac OS X (Mavericks).
When try to run configure, it shows the following error:

? --with-ogg-includes=/usr/include --enable-shared --disable-static

Icecast 2.0 in OS X Server?
Folks;
I am having a hell of a time trying to get IceCast 2.0 installed on an
Apple XServe running OS X 10.2.3. The problem seems to stem from one
of the libraries required by IceCast, specifically libvorbis.
When running MAKE in an attempt to install libvorbis I get the
following:
<p>Making all in examples
/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -DDARWIN -fno-common

[LLVMdev] Mach-O LTO and local relocations
I am wondering how the following issue was handled for
libLTO? We have a working patch to implement the FSF gcc
LTO on darwin which now passes all of the liblto testsuite
but are seeing linker issues with larger programs like
aermod...
as -arch x86_64 -force_cpusubtype_ALL -o aermod.o aermod.s
/usr/bin/ld -dynamic -arch x86_64 -macosx_version_min 10.6.3 -weak_reference_mismatches

[LLVMdev] Mach-O LTO and local relocations
This is probably a problem with having too many sections. There are a few places where mach-o has a limit on the number of sections. For instance the n_sect field of the nlist record is one byte. So any symbol in a section past the 255th section wraps around and shows up with the wrong n_sect number.

[LLVMdev] Mach-O LTO and local relocations
Nick,
Steven believes that aermod certainly could have more than 255 sections. Is there
a particular approach that would be recommended for working around such a problem?
Short of reducing the actual number of sections?
It is suggested that this is why -ffunction-sections doesn't work on darwin
and that one possible solution is to embed an 'ar' format section in the .gnu.lto

compiling error R-2.4.0
Hi there,
I am trying to install from the source R-2.4.0 on my mac (osx 10.4.8
G5 DP)
The error imply Tcl/Tk.
I install it by all the way I know: darwinport, the Tcl/Tk package
from the dmg available from CRAN but without success.
The PATH is correct.
tclConfig.sh is localised in /opt/local/lib and have those permission:

have been requesting for a long time.
In particular, this release contains a completely rewritten llvm-gcc

Icecast 2.0 in OS X Server?
Thanks Ralph;
Maybe it's me. I wiped out my whole /var/libvorbis directory, dropped
in a new one from the libvorbis-1.0.1.tar.gz file including all the
subdirectories, and edited /var/libvorbis/examples/Makefile.fm as
instructed. I then ran ./configure without difficulty, then ran make
again, which started afresh but still ended up with the same error:
gcc -DDARWIN -fno-common

Failed PPC64 compile when using Power7 loads and stores?
Hi Everyone,
I'm having trouble figuring out a compile failure on ppc64le. The
failure is at https://travis-ci.org/noloader/cryptopp-autotools/jobs/602187190
. The message is:
/bin/bash ./libtool --tag=CXX --mode=compile clang++
-DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -DCRYPTOPP_DISABLE_POWER8 -pipe -mcpu=power7
-mvsx -maltivec -g -O2 -MT libppc_power7_la-ppc_power7.lo -MD -MP -MF

Mac OS X/Darwin patch for libvorbis
This is also pretty simple. Just a small patch to configure.in to set the right compiler flags and changes to os.h to (a) not have deeply nested ifdefs, making the file needlessly hard to read, (b) break up the sections by functionality and (c) don't assume that every non-Win32 has the floating versions of math library functions.
