Rice coding parameter
Hi, I asked a few questions about the flac format a couple of weeks ago. One more (if you don't mind) about the Rice coding. The Rice parameter "k" can't be zero (unless I'm mistaken), yet the FLAC spec says the Rice parameter can range from 0 to 15. I guessed, and tried adding one before using the parameter (i.e. assuming the range was really 1 to 16), and that didn't

How can I recreate STREAMINFO metadata?

frames number & compression level
If compression level is not default (!=5), is it stored? If compression level is stored in some case, where I can find it? Frames number works OK according to your instructions. Re: Problem with CRAM and flac-1.1.2
Replying to myself once again, since I seem to have found the answer I was looking for. Sorry for the noise. It seems CRAM is indeed misusing FLAC, since stated in the Notes section of the FLAC format for the FRAME_HEADER is the fact that only block size values 0110 and 0111 can be used for variable block size data (i.e., the block size is specified as an 8 or 16 bit value at the end of the

Two new CVEs against FLAC
Op 11-12-14 om 10:05 schreef Miroslav Lichvar: > but I'd rather see the real seeking bug fixed instead I think I might have a fix, but it touches quite a bit of code, so it'll take some time. I think the problem is that because bogus headers might pop up in the stream of which the CRC checks out, the whole frame is decoded to validate that a frame is correct. The bogus header

libflac doesn't find more than one metadata block
Hello, I'm currently doing a little music player using libflac and libao. What I've currently done works as it should, but I have a problem where only one metadata block is detected, even if there are more (it doesn't have the last attribute set to true). This is using flac 1.3.2 on Gentoo amd64. The main code file is attached, it mainly follows the examples given with the libflac

problems with flac?
So I recently encoded my entire CD collection (over 7000 songs) to flac and I have found that 18 of them have a strange problem.  The files are corrupted in some way.. They will stop playing abruptly in the middle of the song.  I've attached a listing of the metadata and you'll see what I mean.  You can see that the seek points toward the end have a bunch of zeros and I'm not sure

frames number & compression level
I am making a program to obtain information from FLAC files in Visual Basic. NET language. If somebody needs it I can send it. I can also translate it to C #. But I have read the documentation and I have looked for in sdk 1.2.2 and I don't find how to get the frames number of the file and the used compression level (5 default and others) Can somebody help me? Greetings. Santiago Jimeno

Storing FLAC in Matroska
First, Thank you for your answers. I using the following code to try simply decode a flac file and write the decoded data raw PCM file. The resulting file is just noise and pops, so is the decoded data in a different format than PCM? struct flacData { FILE *inputFile; FILE *outputFile; char *filename; }; FLAC__StreamDecoderReadStatus flac_DecoderReadCallback(const FLAC__StreamDecoder

Problem with CRAM and flac-1.1.2
A user of CRAM (http://swami.sourceforge.net/cram.php) sent in a bug report related to decoding of CRAM files. This issue occurs with flac-1.1.2 but not previous versions (such as flac-1.1.1). Note that the same file is used for this test (hopefully ruling out any issue with the encoder). Details of the issue: When calling FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single() the error callback is triggered

better seeking
When I was trying to find yesterday's xmms-plugin bug, i have noticed that seeking in stream without seek-table isn't very good. With attached patch it is much better. -- Miroslav Lichvar -------------- next part -------------- --- src/libFLAC/seekable_stream_decoder.c.orig 2003-02-26 19:41:51.000000000 +0100 +++ src/libFLAC/seekable_stream_decoder.c 2003-07-09 23:49:35.000000000 +0200

Help upgrading to 1.1.3 (MD5 sum issues, album art corrupts files)
Hello all, I recently upgraded the libFLAC used in my application Max (http:// sbooth.org/Max/) to 1.1.3 and added preliminary support for album art. During the upgrade I evidently made some coding mistakes with interesting results. I've combed everything over and can't quite see the problems. I've become somewhat frustrated because my code didn't really change
