[PATCH] Fix fuction prototypes/definitions with void argument
Hi, the patch below fixes function prototypes/defintions with void argument to shut up the heartful warnings by recent gcc :) It doesn't cover all places, e.g. test directories. The patch is to 1.1.2. seeking problems
Hey guys, I just joined the list. I've been programming an external for PureData <http://pure-data.sourceforge.net/> & <http://pure-data.org>, as well as for Max/MSP....that reads multiple sound formats. But, I've been having massive problems with getting reliable seeking with FLAC. sometimes when I call FLAC__seekable_stream_decoder_seek_absolute, I get a false

linking with libFLAC on Mac OS X
Hi everyone. I'm working on a FLAC plugin for the Java Media Framework (JMF) on Mac OS X. I'm having some trouble linking to libFLAC... When I first try to link to it, it tells me the libFLAC.a TOC is out of date, so run ranlib. So then I run ranlib, and it seems to be okay, except I then get undefined symbol errors: % cc -bundle

Using libFLAC++
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm attempting to add flac playback to my app, and would like a couple of pointers. First of all, I'm very much a "learn by seeing other people doing" sort of programmer, and would love a pointer to an open-source app that uses libFLAC++, so I could see how they do it. Second, I'm having problems with my simple test app

FLAC::Encoder::Stream == "FLAC__STREAM_ENCODER_VERIFY_MISMATCH_IN_AUDIO_DATA"
I'm using flac-1.2.1 and visual studio 2010 on windows xp sp3 and I want to compress raw CDDA with the stream encoder to a file. But I just can't get the flac encoder to work, the encoder always returns an error enc.get_state() == "FLAC__STREAM_ENCODER_VERIFY_MISMATCH_IN_AUDIO_DATA" get_verify_decoder_state() == "FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_READ_FRAME" this is the code I

Re: seeking problems
sorry to bother again, but I can narrow down my problem to certain parst of my flac file. for example, when I seek to 19*44100 samples or to 81*44100 samples, the seek callback runs off in an endless loop. there aren't any while loops in my code, so I don't think I am causing it. At least I cannot track it down to something I would be doing. are there issues with seeking in FLAC?

Re: Reg. FLAC decoding
I can't be totally sure what 'short' is on your platform, but if it's (probably) 16-bits, it looks like you're treating the samples in buffer[] as packed 16 bit numbers. but all samples in buffer[] are 32-bit signed integers in host order, regardless of the bits-per-sample of the frame. so to get them down to shorts (assuming they'll fit), do like: FLAC__int32 *

Re: seeking problems
Did you try OggFLAC and MkaFLAC as alternative containers ? For OggFLAC you need libogg, the Xiph documentation should be describing how to seek in the file. But i dont know if using another container than native FLAC framing is an option for you ..... When I was trying to find yesterday's xmms-plugin bug, i have noticed that seeking in stream without seek-table isn't very good.
