Installing packages
Hello,
I have upgraded from Mandrake Linux 8.0 to Mandrake 8.1 and try to reinstall
my favourite R... Everything is OK for the base software but I have trouble
to get some packages installed.
Specifically, for some packages, a "collect2" binary seems to be necessary
during the compilation/linking process of the library, and LD complains about
not finding it :

[LLVMdev] make error building llvm/clang 3.2 on Linux
Just in case someone is having similar problems and/or following this
thread, here's my final "solution" (at least, for now).
In my bash build script, prior to configure, I set the C_INCLUDE_PATH
and CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH to empty strings, and then set some other
environment variables instead:
export C_INCLUDE_PATH=
export CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH=

Fortran linking problems
In a box running Mandrake 9 with R 1.6.2 I get problems when trying to
install packages Matrix and Akima.
It seems my gcc compiler and fortran do not talk to each other.
Thanks in advance for any help,

The errors are:

Hello,
I just have upgraded from Mandrake 8.1 to 8.2 and installed R 1.5.1. I now try

Announcement: Automatic ATLAS support under Debian GNU/Linux
[ If this is considered off-topic please let me know in private mail. ]
With the current version of the glibc library in Debian's "testing" and
"unstable" distributions, ldconfig now loads the ATLAS optimised BLAS without
any user intervention beyond installation of the Atlas and R or Octave
packages.
ATLAS can lead to very dramatic speed increases (up to a factor of ten,

FW: [Asterisk-Users, Andrew] Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scared
Thank you for the suggestions Andrew. I have not come across some of them
before and will give them a shot. Based on my reading, changing the
motherboard should have minimal impact unless that motherboard and the
TDM400P don't get along (aka. IRQ sharing). I have disabled everything that
is not needed and I do not believe I have any IRQ problems and I am NEVER
wrong ;). Calls are crisp and

We have encountered a number of problems with our firewall recently,
and the past 24 hours have left me quite concerned. Here is what we are
seeing:

500 client PCs for a 10Mb internet connection. Running Mandrake 9.2, we
began seeing severe swapping a few weeks, with kernel mem usage
exceeding 200Mb. Given an ip_conntrack

[LLVMdev] make error building llvm/clang 3.2 on Linux
I'm continuing this here in llvm-dev since the thread was started here,
but, in hindsight, it may have been better in cfe-dev, because the
problem seems to be related to clang.
I turned on "verbose" mode in make (VERBOSE=1 TOOL_VERBOSE=1) and found
that it is clang, not gcc, that is being used at this point in the make.
Based on the command issued (particularly with the --sysroot
