[Flac-users] Re: detecting encoding parameters?
Darn, I've deleted Josh's response, so I'll work from memory: Other than displaying block size with metaflac, I'm stumped at how to find out the -l and -r values and the -m / -M choices, so how does one determine them? And to avoid the overhead of a separate post, where does one get the cnv_flacpcm.wac support file for Winamp 3? It's not in the .zip file, it's not in

WinAmp3 & Icecast2 compatibility?
Hello folks I'm having trouble playing ogg streams with WinAmp3. I run Icecast2 & Ices2 (both compiled from CVS about two weeks ago) on a Linux box, the files being streamed were encoded with oggenc (from oggutils1.0, managed 80kbitrate...) The problem is that WinAmp3 won't actually play the .ogg stream. When I give it the URL (http://myserver:8000/mount.ogg) it says

Winamp3 component update
Okay, I've done a bit of work on flacpcm.cpp and the Winamp3 component workspace. I updated the workspace & projects to use the SDK for build 488 (based on GenericWACTemplate). I also fleshed-out the MediaInfo callbacks, so that standard Vorbis comment fields are reported (author, album, genre, date/year, title, track, description), although id3 tag info takes precedence. So flac

[Flac-users] winamp plugins troubles
Give a hint please how to compile winamp plugins. After ./configure && make I see no .dll and no .wac files in the source tree at all :( What am I doing wrong? All the lib modules are compiled just as xmms plugin but the winamp ones.. Documentation says nothing about that. -- Best regards, RuslanO mailto:ruslano@imp.lg.ua

Winamp3 plugin
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I've just downloaded the newest version of Winamp3, which comes with ogg support by default. Up until now, I was using winamp 2.78 with Peter's excelent plugin, and I really loved the tag editor. Sadly, the new plugin doesn't have this great tag editor. I was looking through Peter's website, but the only thing he had there was

Plugin Status
Hello, I have been using flac for some time and it works really great for me. I have tried the plugins for winamp2 and xmms and noticed that it does display the vorbis tags but you cannot edit them yet. It would also be cool to show some infos like md5sum, numbers of frames etc. in the plugin status window. Are these features under development or not very high priority?

Q: WinAmp3 Plugin
I just installed WinAmp3 on my machine and then needed to install the WinAmp3 plugin for FLAC. Now, when I start WinAmp, it says it needs MSVCRTD.DLL This is the debug version of the MS Visual C library. Ok, now I tracked down a version of MSVCRTD.DLL (File Version 6.0.8797.0) and it prevents WinAmp from crashing but ... it still doesn't play the FLAC files. These FLAC files were

WinAmp3 Plugin
Thanks. Is there anything that we can do? I can't seem to find the source to the plug-in. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? inclusion of alias handling in klibc insmod
Just curious if anyone has done anything similar, as I'd rather not reporduce work. I'm going to put alias handling (and only alias handling) into a modified version of insmod. The reason I'm doing this is to aid in boot time module loading via aliases exposed in sysfs. Sure, I could include modprobe directly in the initramfs, but it's a bit large, and I really only need alias

solved: building icecast2 on OpenBSD
Icecast2 compiles on OpenBSD 3.2 with the steps outlined by Moritz (thanks for that). I'm running into problems streaming ogg files from the fileserve directory, although serving mp3 files from the same directory happens without a hitch...again, both work fine on a Debian system. I'll try building the ogg and vorbis libraries from source to see if that fixes anything (they are

Getting Spam Assassin and Amavis working
Okay, y'all know that I've been working on a script to auto-setup an email server. (updated script at: http://www.benjamin.weiss.name/mail-server.sh ) I've been trying to get Spam Assassin to work correctly with amavisd and razor. To test, I've taken email from my current email server that has a score of 9 or more and tried emailing it to the new server, but it doesn't

[Fwd: Re: Newbie Problem]
Mike, Even though it plays the test .ogg file I have fine and plays other ShoutCast streams fine ? Sorry for the stupid questions but I'm a Linux sysadmin who's never done streaming audio like this before. Newbie Problem
Hi all! I just finished an install of icecast/iceS but I'm having problems. I followed the documentation provided here: http://melmoth.dyndns.org/stream/doc/ to the letter and this is the problem I'm having: Everything seems to function (icecast runs, iceS runs) and it generates messages such as: [root@icecast stream]# bin/ices conf/ices-playlist.xml [2003-06-04 06:43:17] INFO

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi, Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though. And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!? I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps prebuffering. I need something
