More Tests for 2.4.0-RC2 - strange behaviour
Hi all, I was trying to test ROUTE specific code with a multi-isp serviced box. There is a bug somewhere, but I''m not able to understand what the real problem is: when I issue a "shorewall show capabilities" I get: Loading /usr/share/shorewall/functions... Processing /etc/shorewall/params ... Processing /etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf... Loading Modules... Shorewall has

MASQUERADE problem again...
Dear list members, Masquerading does''not work for me. This is a Mandrake Linux 10 system, but I use another kernel, that included in the original distribution (original: 2.6.3, now used 2.6.8 because of a lot of suck with OpenSwan with kernels prior 2.6.4). The problem seems to be similar or identical mentioned here:

Mandrake Connection Sharing facility problem.
Hello everybody, To make all clear; I am newbee in shorewall, but... I''ve tried to connect two computers by Mandrake Connection Sharing facility. (Mandrake 9.1). Briefly, the problem is that after all that auto-configuration activities the network is completely down, just because shorewall. Updated Shorewall build and publish scripts
Attached please find updated build and publish scripts. They set the ''ulink.target'' parameter appropriately when converting docbook->HTML. I have always hacked my xhtml/params.xsl file to set this parameter; these updated scripts make that abomination unnecessary. Paul/Mike: It might be a good idea to add a CVS project for these scripts. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is

Hi, I have a proxy/firewall, I want to dnat requests for 193.205.140.106 on port 443 towards 10.2.15.23 and requests for 193.205.140.106 on ports 4330 and 3389 towards 10.2.15.25, these rules must apply from internet, loc and fw (some client use a proxy on fw to reach these servers) I have tried with the following rules: DNAT net dmz:10.2.15.23 tcp 443 -

Shorewall 1.4.1
This is a minor release of Shorewall. WARNING: This release introduces incompatibilities with prior releases. See http://www.shorewall.net/upgrade_issues.htm. Changes are: a) There is now a new NONE policy specifiable in /etc/shorewall/policy. This policy will cause Shorewall to assume that there will never be any traffic between the source and destination zones. b) Shorewall no longer

bitreader optimizations
Hi, attached are patches that improve decoding speed a bit. The first patch improves the bit scan macro used for decoding unary values, the second one adds a GCC inline assembly for bswap and the third patch replaces the read_rice_block function. In my testing it turned out to be even faster than the _ia32_bswap function. If the code produced by MSVC is faster as well, I'd suggest to remove

Patch to fix dynamic add/delete to zone functinality
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I''m running systems with openswan and modified _updown script supporting shorewall dynamic hosts. Because on problems with cvs head version of openswan I found a error from shorewall dynamic hosts support. When host is already in zone shorewall aborts adding process with error. This is not good thing(tm). I found out that deleting host from

multiple comparisons
Hello again R help. This is a simple question perhaps(laughing as I type) with a simple answer. Is the multcomp package appropriate for using with a lme built under the nlme package. I know i can get it to work (i.e report p-values for a tukey test) but i am not unsure if this is appropriate for a linear mixed effects model. Below is the code i used lmm1 <- lme(asinh(density_recruit) ~

"basic two-interface" setup problem
Hi, I installed the shorewall 1.3.8-2 debian package to my debian testing machine which serves as the gateway to the internet. Since I have two other machine connect to internet thru this gateway machine, I also downloaded the configuration guide for "basic two-interface firewall" and followed the instructions. When I try to start the shorewall I get the following message and can not
