C++ Set_Metadata Problem
I refer to a problem that appeared on the flac list last August that was
either solved off-list or abandoned.
(http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/flac/2005-August/000468.html)
The problem is with using the C++ encoder classes, particularly the
FLAC::Encoder::File:set_metadata
function. JC said that the developers version of how to add a simple
metadata block looked right, but it did not work for

Getting subframe type=verbatim on 16 bit files
Here's how I set up the data for processing:
// For moving data into 32 bit shape
uint8_t *buffer8 = NULL;
uint16_t *buffer16 = NULL;
uint32_t *buffer32 = NULL;
unsigned sample32;
unsigned sample, channel;
uint32_t bitsPerSample = this->get_bits_per_sample();
numFrames = inData.GetSize();

Getting subframe type=verbatim on 16 bit files
I'm using libFLACC++ and libFLAC and I think that I'm using the calls in the
typical order (see code below). But every monoe or stereo file that I send
thru I get files that are the same sze as the orginal wave files.
Doing a flac -a on the flac files I see that I get:
frame=9 blocksize=4608 sample_rate=8000 channels=1
channel_assignment=INDEPENDENT
subframe=0

problem with seek_absolute in libFLAC++
Hello,
I have been changing my (C++)program over to the new FLAC++ API which
has gone relatively smoothly.
However, the function seek_absolute() (from the FLAC::Decoder::File
class) does not seem to work. It always returns false and doesnt seek at
all. Using gdb, I have narrowed down the problem somewhat, but being the
novice programmer that I am, I still don't know whats wrong.

problem with seek_absolute in libFLAC++
Nevermind, I have discovered the problem(not really a problem).
I had called:
set_metadata_ignore_all();
because I didnt actually need to use the metadata in my application.
But it seems that with this option set, "total_samples" is not set
correctly after calling init().
Upon further debugging, I discovered that the test "sample <
total_samples" was what is failing in

libFLAC++ Seeking
Hello,
I've a problem with seeking using libFLAC++ API.
The call to seek_absolute always returns with false, whatever I do.
I tried many different ways, finally I tried to reduce my added code to near zero, so I used the cpp decode example in ...\flac-1.2.1\examples\cpp\decode\file\.main.cpp and added only one line:
bool b=decoder.seek_absolute(1000);

FLAC__stream_decoder_seek_absolute calling write callback
Hello,
The API documentation [1] `FLAC__stream_decoder_seek_absolute` says:
"Flush the input and seek to an absolute sample. Decoding will resume
at the given sample. Note that because of this, the next write
callback may contain a partial block."
I expected that subsequent `process_single` calls would return data
starting exactly from the sample I've seeked to. To my surprise

FLAC seeking error
I am writing a FLAC encoder/decoder and when I use the flac_static.lib
that was compiled in debug mode in MS Visual Studio 2003, the
seek_absolute function works fine. However, if I compile flac_static in
release mode in the same environment, the seek_absolute function no
longer works. No parts of my code change, the only difference is
whether I link in the release lib instead of the debug lib.

Real time in ARM - please help
Thanks for the advice. With complexity=1, bit rates 5950,8000 and 15000 (CBR
only), I'm still getting 30-50 seconds encoding time for a 10-second file.
To anyone who has made this work in ARMv4, or knows how to, can I get some
advice on the settings? FIXED_POINT is already defined in all relevant
files. My source code is patterned after sampleenc and I haven't tried using

Unexpected writeCallback() calls
Hello!
I've recently written a FLAC input plugin which uses the
seekable stream decoder API of libFLAC 1.02. It works so
far, but one thing is pretty annoying and should be changed
in future libFLAC versions, IMHO:
The writeCallback is not only called after functions which
do decoding (like process_whole_stream(), process_one_frame()
or process_remaining_frames()), ie. where one expects that

Strangeness with OggFlac files
Josh et al,
I've been tracking down a problem with generating OggFlac files.
While investigatint this issue I hacked one of the test files from
the test_libFLAC directory of the flac-1.1.3-beta2. The result of
this hacking is this standalone C file:

Directions for compiling this is in the comments at the top of
the file.

FLAC++ SeekableStream write_callback not being called?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I am trying to create a FLAC plugin for the K3b CD burning program. To do this
I have subclassed the FLAC::Decoder::SeekableStream class. I can obtain the
vorbiscomment data using set_metadata_respond, process_until_end_of_metadata
and the metadata_callback, however I cannot decode the audio data. It seems
to me as though the write_callback

Decoding via API from a single FLAC file using a cue sheet
Hello,
I have currently many of my CDs ripped to FLAC to replay them from the
computer. In most cases, there are single files for each track on the
CD. I like the idea to rip the CD to a single track and add a cue sheet
to the metadata which was recently discussed on the list.
How would I access specific tracks using this approach by means of the
FLAC (or FLAC++) API in my own decoder

C++ File Decoder position not implemented?
It appears the C++ File Decoder wrapper to the
FLAC__File_Decoder_decode_position function has not been implemented.
How can I determine what the current sample is being decoded?
I note the seek_absolute function is included, so I can go to a particular
sample, but I don't know where I am :-)
Thanks!

FLAC++ SeekableStream write_callback not being called?
I'll have to see the whole class definition to tell what's
wrong; nothing below looks wrong.
the unit tests (see src/test_libFLAC++/) have some examples
and the write callbacks do get called.
