So before i knew better, i encoded a lot of my CDs in flac and added id3 tags (they worked, so great!). I know i've seen mention of others doing this; anyone gone to the trouble to write a tag conversion tool? Hi all, It has recently come to my attention that the linux "file" utility reports some (but not all) of my flac files as having a mime type of "audio/mpeg". Obviously this is incorrect, but why is it reported as such? Have you considered trying to have FLAC become an official part of the Ogg project? Ogg has Vorbis but no lossless codec, and FLAC is already production quality. You've already written the code to wrap FLAC in an Ogg bitstream. Ogg Squish seems to be abandoned, and it would be a grand waste of effort to revive it when FLAC already works so well.
