C++ Set_Metadata Problem
I refer to a problem that appeared on the flac list last August that was either solved off-list or abandoned. (http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/flac/2005-August/000468.html) The problem is with using the C++ encoder classes, particularly the FLAC::Encoder::File:set_metadata function. JC said that the developers version of how to add a simple metadata block looked right, but it did not work for

FLAC__stream_decoder_flush
Hi, The FLAC__stream_decoder_flush doesn't change the state, but when I play a stream and reach the end I have to do a FLAC__stream_decoder_reset and reread the metadata instead of simply a FLAC__stream_decoder_flush. This is because the stream state, which indicates the end of the stream, is not changed. Is there a reason, for the state not being reset to

[PATCH] set decoding status if write callback failed.
Open src/flac/decode.c, find write_callback() function and add return FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_WRITE_STATUS_ABORT; to the beginning of the function. Decoding will fail with the following message: test.flac: ERROR while decoding data state = FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_READ_FRAME As you can see, decoder state isn't quite correct. One of the ways to fix this is in the attached

Problem with CRAM and flac-1.1.2
A user of CRAM (http://swami.sourceforge.net/cram.php) sent in a bug report related to decoding of CRAM files. This issue occurs with flac-1.1.2 but not previous versions (such as flac-1.1.1). Note that the same file is used for this test (hopefully ruling out any issue with the encoder). Details of the issue: When calling FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single() the error callback is triggered

[PATCH] src/libFLAC/stream_decoder.c : Rework fix for seeking bug.
To avoid crash caused by an unbound LPC decoding when predictor order is larger than blocksize, the sanity check needs to be moved to the subframe decoding functions. --- src/libFLAC/stream_decoder.c | 30 ++++++++++++------------------ 1 file changed, 12 insertions(+), 18 deletions(-) diff --git a/src/libFLAC/stream_decoder.c b/src/libFLAC/stream_decoder.c index d13b23b..211b4db 100644 ---

flac fails encoding 88.2
I do the following to init flac: encoder = FLAC__stream_encoder_new(); e = FLAC__stream_encoder_set_do_mid_side_stereo (encoder, numChannels == 2); e = FLAC__stream_encoder_set_loose_mid_side_stereo (encoder, numChannels == 2); e = FLAC__stream_encoder_set_channels (encoder, numChannels); e = FLAC__stream_encoder_set_bits_per_sample (encoder, jmin (24,

Assistance with an encoding plugin
Hi, I'm working on writing a FLAC encoding plugin for a personal cd ripping project of mine which uses paranoia for the raw audio extraction. My basic setup which follows gets me oddly high pitched audio with lots of noise (although the music IS somewhat recognizable). #include <FLAC/stream_encoder.h> FLAC__StreamEncoder *encoder; FILE *output_file_descriptor; encoder =

Two new CVEs against FLAC
Hi all, Google Security Team member, Michele Spagnuolo, recently found two potential problems in the FLAC code base. They are : CVE-2014-9028 : Heap buffer write overflow CVE-2014-8962 : Heap buffer read overflow For Linux distributions, the specific fixes for these two CVEs are available from Git here:

deprecated function question
Greets all, Is there a list of functions that have been removed from flac? I am trying to compile xmcd, which is admittedly pretty old code, and it's not finding: FLAC__stream_encoder_set_write_callback FLAC__stream_encoder_set_seek_callback FLAC__stream_encoder_set_client_data FLAC__stream_encoder_init grepping through the flac headers these aren't there so I'm assuming they've

Storing FLAC in Matroska
First, Thank you for your answers. I using the following code to try simply decode a flac file and write the decoded data raw PCM file. The resulting file is just noise and pops, so is the decoded data in a different format than PCM? struct flacData { FILE *inputFile; FILE *outputFile; char *filename; }; FLAC__StreamDecoderReadStatus flac_DecoderReadCallback(const FLAC__StreamDecoder

FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single and FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_END_OF_STREAM
Hi all, If I have code that does this: while (FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single (decoder)) /* Do something. */ ; I get an infinite loop. Shouldn't FLAC__stream_decoder_process_single return false if it gets to FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_END_OF_STREAM? If so, here's a patch. Cheers, Erik ------------------8<------------------8<------------------8<------------------

new checkins
FYI, I have checked in a few interesting things. One is a speedup to the decoder (about 15% improvement in overall decode time). Another is a new interface to FLAC file metadata. If you're curious look at include/FLAC/metadata.h. It is basically a collection of object manipulation routines and iterators that make it pretty easy to add/edit/delete FLAC metadata in files efficiently. The
