Vorbis ACM
Does anyone have a status update for this project? The sourceforge page doesn't offer much info: http://sourceforge.net/projects/vorbisacm I'd love to be able to use Vorbis to encode audio from within Virtualdub, etc, etc, not to mention the ability o play Vorbis files in Windows Media Player. Too bad I don't have the skills to write it myself. Thanks, --Wilson. --- >8 ---- List

Ogg Movies
Hi! I was very pleased when I realized that it is possible to use OGG VORBIS for compressing the audio streams of my movies. But because the AVI standard (*.avi) doesn't support VORBIS audio streams, I had to use the OGG MEDIA standard (*.ogm) instead for my movies. Are there any tools (or VirtualDub plugins ???) for editing Ogg Media Streams? I would like to change the Video FrameRate in

ACM codec?
Hi, Is there a plan to make a FLAC ACM codec? Then we could use FLAC together with an open source lossless video codec like Huffyuv (http://www.math.berkeley.edu/~benrg/huffyuv.html). Daniel

The Speex ACM codec has been released as version 1.0.1.1. Enjoy! Here is a list of changes: * A setup application has been added to the release. Just click SETUP.EXE and follow the instructions. * The crash under Windows 95/98/ME was fixed. * A reported crash in VirtualDub, CDEx and possibly other applications was fixed * The codec's Format Tag was changed to an official Microsoft

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian. Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP. I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska. The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the codecs available. This is much preferable of course

Anybody running VirtualDub ?
Hi! I just tried to run VirtualDub 1.5.10 with current wine from CVS. The program runs, but when the video playback is started (or even the video file is just loaded), all the screen except the window with the first video frame goes black. The video is played properly. All is alive and well, underlying windows/icons are there and they react on the mouse, windows can be moved (if You find their

VirtualDub and enconding with DivX, XviD
Hello, I am trying to get the latest wine (Wine 20030219, fake windows) working with the GordianKnot (0.27). Unfortunately, Virtual Dub is not be able to compress a avs-file with the DivX-codec. It crashes if trying to. Also, it would be nice to compress an mpeg-source with Xvid but also it crashes. BTW, VirtualDub does not list it in its codecs window ?f "msvfw32" is set to

Speex ACM full release
If you want to put Speex content into WAVE and AVI files, you can now do so. ;) On www.openacm.org you will find the codec. Its status has just been updated to an official release and you should no longer see crashes when using VirtualDub and CDex. Just be warned that the codec only accepts 8000, 16000 and 32000 Hz because of the codec's design and the lack of an internal resampler. This is

Re: [vorbis-dev] ACM codec
My concern is primarly the 'marketing' aspect. If UCI, or MCF, or any other interface, is adopted by the toolmakers, then that's a perfectly good solution. <p>-----Original Message----- From: Christian HJ Wiesner [mailto:christian.hj.wiesner@web.de] Sent: Tue 11/12/2002 10:10 AM To: theora-dev@xiph.org Cc: Subject: [theora-dev] Re: [vorbis-dev] ACM codec

Changing FS type reported by Wine
Hi, Is there any way to make Wine report a filesystem type other than FAT32 to applications (specifically, NTFS)? The reason I ask is that VirtualDub (a video postprocessing package) refuses to allow creation of files greater than 4GB on what it thinks are FAT32 drives. I know it works perfectly with really big files (>50GB) on NTFS because I've used it on WinNT. Thanks Stephen

Encoding: theora legalities
Hi, I am having trouble understanding the legalities of the whole encoding issue. Here is what I am trying to do: Problem: We get 17GB's worth of 12 second long mpeg2 video clips from a capture card. We want some way of compressing these clips so that we can save space and bandwidth. These clips are used in an activity that generates income (nothing sinister). Proposed solution: Use
