.travis.yml ... most likely included in error
Hello:
????? Suggestions for whomever maintains "R CMD":
??? ??????? 1.? Can you change it so it doesn't complain about the
presence of ".travis.yml", at least on GitHub?
??? ??????? 2.? What do you suggest people do to find error messages in
the output?? I ask, because I'm getting "build failing" from
travis-ci.org, but I can't see what failed

r-devel @ Travis
Hi!
I'm developing R packages and use Travis CI for continous integration. When
submitting to CRAN Im suggestet to test the package using the latest
R-devel. I would like that all test where run using Travis. Is there anyone
who knows if this is possible to run travis test using the latest r-devel?

r-devel @ Travis
Thank you all for the comments and suggestions!
I got the link from Garbor to work, but that is the old r-travis approach
(using C). I tried the same approach with native R Travis build but
unfortunately it did not work. So I contacted Jim Hester and he told me
that they are now actively working with implementing multiple R versions in
the native R builds.

request for ubuntu precise 3.7.0 packages for travis-ci
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA256
Hi,
I noticed there isn't any precise packages
http://llvm.org/apt/precise/pool/main/l/ for 3.7.0
While it is really an old OS, it is the supported platform for now for
Travis-CI (trusty is in Beta), enabling clang/llvm CI builds for lots of
open source projects.
Without this package travis-ci users are limited to testing against 3.6

[LLVMdev] Recent clang 3.7 RC1 release broke Travis CI integration
Hi,
Until Friday of last week, it was possible to install a package named
"clang-3.7" from the llvm-toolchain-precise repository linked to from
http://llvm.org/apt/. However, at about the same time 3.7 RC1 was
announced, that stopped working. People who use Travis CI for integration
testing frequently depend on being able to retrieve clang this way so that
they can test their

Sadly that's the best option currently. As you say it's a bit
complicated, although oggenc has a lot of extra support for controlling
encoder options you

Use of alloca in vorbis_comment_add_tag
Dear Vorbis devs,
I'm Robert Kausch, author of fre:ac - free audio converter.
Please consider using _ogg_malloc/_ogg_free in place of alloca in
vorbis_comment_add_tag. alloca will cause undefined behaviour/crashing
when it causes a stack overflow which can easily happen when adding
cover art in a METADATA_BLOCK_PICTURE comment.
I had a user trying to convert a FLAC file with a 2 MB

Some Speex AGC Questions
I'm attempting to use speex preprocess for automatic gain control in an
application I'm working on and could use some help.
I'm using Opus as my codec. In order to keep the number of packets down,
I'm using 60msec frames. I'm sampling at 48KHz as is recommended for Opus.
So, the frame length is 2880 samples and the sampling rate is 48000. The
source of the data is a

.travis.yml ... most likely included in error
Hi Spencer,
To get rid of the .travis.yml note add a .Rbuildignore file with this line:
^\.travis\.yml$
This will exclude the file from the build.
The build is failing because of a warning. As noted in the log, Travis is
treating a warning as an error:
Found warnings, treating as errors
It's a bit hard to find the warning in the logs because of all the pdfTeX
output but it's a warning

About "attempt to fix differences between x86 FPU and SSE calculations"
More specifically, about this patch: http://git.xiph.org/?p=flac.git;a=commitdiff;h=70b078cfd5f9d4b0692c33f018cac3c652b14f90
I downloaded the latest code from git (flac-70b078c), disabled
all SSE optimizations in the code and compiled it (GCC 4.8.2).
This patch doesn't change FLAC output.
Either gcc is too smart and optimizes this new code back to the old,
or this fix is MSVS-specific. Or

Ogg Format
Hello Jean-Marc,
As an example, I am using the output of opus encoder to store the file as
the following format and read back the same during decode process, without
having much overhead. (Thought it would be useful to put a picture rather
than running text)

Dear all,
I am getting an R CMD check warning about the PDF manual. I am having a
hard time finding out what is wrong, here is the log of the Rd2pdf call.
The full check (and other) log is at
https://api.travis-ci.org/jobs/46373922/log.txt?deansi=true if anybody is
interested, and the package itself is here:

I'm not sure how you get a 7% overhead. In most uses I've seen, the
overhead is more around 1%.

Ogg Format
The overhead of Ogg (in file size) is pretty small and it's efficient
enough for most applications (and uses far less CPU than the codec
anyway). If anything, you might want to look at optimizing the existing
Ogg implementation (e.g. like Tremor did in the context of Vorbis).
Of course, you're always free to design a new container, but I doubt
it's worth it and it's a lot of work

can we help with libvorbis release for CVE fixes?
Yes, the gitlab instance is the correct upstream development
repository. We maintain a mirror at github for the convenience of
developers there.
