Calculating home ranges using mcp in adehabitat
Hello, I've been trying to calculate home range sizes (for Icelandic geese!) using minimum convex polygons with the adehabitat package. I've tried to use the R code shown by demo(homerange) in adehabitat and when that didn't work I've fiddled around with it but to no avail...Below is the output of the demo that I've attempted to follow, followed by a subset of my data (for one

Fwd: Re: 2.2 release imminent.
Okay, I sent this a while back, and the current source still exhibits all the previous errors. Is there a chance this can be fixed? Even fixing the check for dn_expand in resolv.so would help ... Using ',' character in applications data
Hi, When i include a ',' in the application data, for example: exten => 1,1,Plaback(echo,file); [My file name is "echo, file"] the Playback application receives echo|file as data parameter. How can avoid asterisk change the ',' character? (The change code is in asterisk/pbx/pbx_config.c Ln 1150). I'm developping an application for asterisk and i need to pass

Performance, dovecot vs tpop3d
Hello, I am new to the list and have spent extensive time researching performance suggestions through the list and the documentation. Particularly interesting is the recent performance thread related to the upcoming release. I just upgraded one of our email servers from tpop3d to dovecot 1.0rc19. tpop3d has served us well for many years; however, it basically has lost all it's support

PVAClone: new package for population viability analysis
Dear UseRs! We are pleased to announce the release of our new package 'PVAClone'. The 'PVAClone' package implements Population Viability Analysis (PVA) methodology using data cloning. The data cloning algorithm by Lele et al. (2007, 2010) is employed to compute maximum likelihood estimates of the state-space model parameters and the corresponding standard errors, heavily

difference of means as response?
Dear R users, I am looking for some advice on the proper construction of a mixed model in R, using the difference in means as the response and treating within-means residuals as a random effect. I have a dataframe (my own, a snippet of which is given below) that is composed of observations of pollen viability in flowers along tree branches. Flowers (1 to 3 per position) were collected from

Two-way Anova
Hello, I'm trying to do a comparsion on a large scale say 10L bottle of liquid and a small scale bottle of liquid 0.5L, I have 5 different samples from each and they are measured over the space of 8 days as % viability and the % viability decreases over time. However not all 10 samples got measured every day. How would I do a two-way anova on this in R? Thanks for any help. Regards, Al

Best practice for v1.4 Audio Stack
Since installing versions of Wine with use the new audio stack we get small glitches in the directsound output from our application. Its hard to pin down but seems to glitch for a few milliseconds when the disc gets used by ubuntu or similar. I've checked that the directsound buffer isn't running dry and all the usual stuff and don't seem to be able to find a way of recreating it

AEC and different sound cards
Hello! I'm attempting to implement Speex AEC support in GStreamer, using work started by Olivier Cr?te. In the Speex manual, I see this text: "Using a different soundcard to do the capture and plaback will *not* work, regardless of what you may think. The only exception to that is if the two cards can be made to have their sampling clock ``locked'' on the same clock

Mixed Models
Hello, I've run a Proc Mixed function on a set of data in SAS. The data was a result of an experiment that measured % viability over time and I wanted to compare a Large sample lets say 50L to a small sample say 5L. And compare the % viability between the 2 sizes to see if I get the same answer there are 8 samples of each size and the same 8 samples are tested every day over 10 days (day 0

PXEBoot with network options forcing adapter to full duplex.
Hi Brock, I'm trying set full duplex on a server that is being pxeboot/provisioned via autoyast. We want to ensure the duplex is full DURING the autoyast provisioning itself. I've played the syslinux configs to specify the bcm5600 driver, but was having trouble with setting the network options. I've tryed appending them as well, but nothing on the internet seems to indicate that

Re: samba and shares
Thanks, but in /etc/fstab I have username/password as options so I don't have to type all that everytime ;) What is weird about this situation (and what no one has addressed) is why gnomba (gtk frontend for samba) will mount these shares fine but I cannot mount them from the command line. What does gnomba do that I am not? sean On Mon, Mar 11, 2002 at 08:24:32PM -0800, Brock Nanson wrote:
