Speex (in ios) really poor quality (and robotic) sound
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to encode/decode with speex, when I do not, the audio is loud and clear, but when I encode/decode to test audio quality, I get a really poor audio quality and a robotic sound.
Here's my init audio method :
#define AUDIO_QUALITY 10
- (void) initAudio {
try {
//SPEEX CONFIG
speex_bits_init(&bits_in);

ffmpeg2theora start and end time support
For last few days I was trying to learn ffmpeg and libtheora API. In the
process, I have modified ffmpeg2theora code to include support for start
time and end time.
ffmpeg2theora -s 60 -e 130 file.avi
will produce file.ogg which will be from 60th to 130th second of input
file (something like -ss and -endpos in mencoder). This is a useful
feature for someone who wants to cut a part of video

[patch] more ffmpeg2theora improvements
Hi,
the attached patch (against current SVN) adds three new options to
ffmpeg2theora: --keyint (set keyframe interval) --smoothness (set the
theora_info::sharpness encoding parameter) and --noautosync (disable the
new frame dropping/duplicating code).
It also fixes a bug with the processing of --cropright that sometimes
segfaulted. The sync adjustment code is now tuned to be more reliable.

ffmpeg2theora start and end time support - patch
After posting my previous mail, I realized that i should instead post a
patch against HEAD. This is because v0.12 was released while I was also
changing ffmpeg2theora.c from v0.11. So please use this patch instead and
apply it to version at http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/ffmpeg2theora

[LLVMdev] [RFC] llvm/include/Support/OutputBuffer.h
FWIW, I'd be interested in working on the Windows implementation. I've been knee-deep in *nixes lately and wouldn't mind the refresher. :)

Cool!
Does my proposed interface make sense to implement on top of Windows APIs?

metadata switches for ffmpeg2theora
Jan,
Here's a hacky patch to add a few commandline options for setting
comment header fields in ffmpeg2theora. It's a bit big because I
virtualized the global info struct in theorautils.c. In retrospect
that probably wasn't necessary, but I think it's cleaner anyway.
I didn't test it because I couldn't compile ffmpeg2theora, but
modulo bugs it should support

Writing test for CacheHelper
Hi,
I''m working to patch actionpack/lib/action_view/helpers/
cache_helper.rb so that it doesn''t throw when ouput_buffer isn''t
ActionView::OutputBuffer but is still html_safe. In 3-0-stable the
function contains the following if:
if output_buffer.is_a?(ActionView::OutputBuffer)
safe_output_buffer = output_buffer.to_str

[pre-RFC] Data races in concurrent ThinLTO processes
Hi Steven and Peter,
I think we resolved all the misunderstanding/concerns that we had with the proposal and decided that we don’t have to implement heavy-weight synchronization solutions (such as read-write locks, etc). Lightweight solution is expected to work on MacOS and Windows (however, there might be issues with Windows supporting non-NTFS file systems).
There are two options for the

[pre-RFC] Data races in concurrent ThinLTO processes
Hi Peter,
Thank you for the clarification ☺.
I’m sure you have a very good understanding of how much efforts it will take to write a patch for legacy C LTO to implement caching the same way it’s done in new C++ LTO API. How easy/difficult do you think it will be (very roughly, in LOC)? Do you anticipate that a lot of existing legacy C LTO infrastructure will have to be rewritten? Could this also
