General pre-processing prior to feeding sound to speex.
Hi,
I have speex running as a part of a voice conferencing app. Well, one
under development anyway.
I'm running VBR at quality 3 and get a "hissy-squelchy" background
noise. This is fine, kinda, because the internal microphone in the
laptop picks up hiss, the sound of the (actually very quiet) hard drive
and generally speaking is of less than exemplary quality.

Storage compression patch for Rsync (unfinished)
Hi,
i am using Rsync for making backups of a MySQL database. The MySQL files can
be compressed about 1:10 and i want to make use of this fact.
Rsync currently doesn't support saving files in a compressed state. I
personally think this should be a feature for the filesystem (in the sense of
"synchronised files") but currently there is no such filesystem for Linux
available.

Jitsi Meet on CentOS 7 ?
Benson, no SELINUX was not enabled. The instance was selected without it
just to make things easier.
I do not have a pull request for the installation manual yet.

Jitsi Meet on CentOS 7 ?
Hi,
Anyone here managed to run Jitsi Meet on a CentOS 7 server ? As far as I can
tell, it's one of the nicer open source videoconferencing solutions out there.
I gave it a spin on https://suricate.tv and now I'd like to install it on one
of my servers.
Unfortunately the Jitsi developers only provide documentation for
Debian/Ubuntu. Well, there is some sort of guide for CentOS around. As

Jitsi Meet on CentOS 7 ?
Hi Centos friends.
I had some time to write a spartan tutorial on running the latest stable
Jitsi Video Bridge and Jitsi Meet and Centos 7.7.
I wrote it while testing it so this WORKS and I am currently using it for
fun with the kids.
I do have the server currently running but blocked by my firewall. I am
willing to allow a few of the people such a Kovacs and others to connect to
my Jitsi server

Example of Jitsi Desktop provisioning file
Hello,
1. I'm looking for an (anomized) example of a Jitsi Desktop provisioning
file compliant with Asterisk ?
Jitsi Doc mentions it should adhere to Java properties file syntax (see
[1]) but a working example would help.
If this example file included the following settings, it would be perfect:
- sip username, secret, authname, ...
- codec G711, RFC2833
- BLF
- local or remote phonebook

Speex Resampler Usage
Hi all,
I am using Speex in a VoIP application and everything is working great.
Now I am trying to integrate the Resampler in order to convert data
input, especially in the Wide Band mode (16 Khz).
I have seen in the doc that for mono the ChannelID parameter should be 0, but
How one should call the resampler in the case of PCM stereo data ?
It is also stated that "It is also possible to

Logitech webcam for use with CentOS 7
I am thinking of buying a Logitech C920S Pro HD or C922 webcam for the necessary video conferencing.
Is anyone using that with Zoom or perhaps with Jitsi? Do I need drivers? Any issues?
Thank you.

autocompletion: hooking ''afterUpdateElement'' in Rails
Hi everyone,
I need to trigger a Rails action after the autocompletion is completed
(when the user has selected an option).
From the scriptaculous doc, I figured out ''afterUpdateElement'' is the
place to be but I wonder if/how and where I can hook my javascript code
to this event in Rails code (I''d like to keep using the helper, if
possible)?
I tried passing many

compressed archives
Suppose I have a particular version of a largish compressed archive,
most likely a .tgz or .tbz2, and that a remote machine has a newer,
and only slightly different, version of the same archive, where most
of the content hasn't actually changed much. I might attempt to obtain
a copy of the newer archive by first copying my local older copy to
the newer name as a file to update from.

Request to speed up save()
Hi,
I am dealing with very large datasets and it takes a long time to save a
workspace image.
The options to save compressed data are: "gzip", "bzip2" or "xz", the
default being gzip. I wonder if it's possible to include the pbzip2
(http://compression.ca/pbzip2/) algorithm as an option when saving.
"PBZIP2 is a parallel implementation of the bzip2

chan_motif / res_xmpp problems
I've now replicated my setup on a host with a single IPv4 address and I
am still having trouble with the ICE negotiation.
I am trying to call from Jitsi to Asterisk through a Prosody XMPP
server. Asterisk successfully registers with the XMPP server and
appears to be available in the buddy list in Jitsi. Jitsi is being run
with the "-4" command line option to use IPv4 only just in

feature request
Dear FLAC developers,
Thank you for your time and effort for creating such a great lossless
compressor and make it freely available to the general public. I have a
small feature request, which will make the life much easier for people
like me who are converting from APE + CUE sheet to flac.
The feature that I'm requesting is:

Asterisk: BYE is received late
Hi,
I'm having an issue with all my calls going out my SIP provider. I'm using
a softphone registering to a local Asterisk PBX (I'm using Jitsi by the way - it's great and actively growing).
I register as extension 4053 to asterisk server at 10.215.147.115 (alias IP -
real IP addr. is 10.215.147.111) and dial a phone number that is routed via
an Internet SIP provider.
