I have been tyring to use the preprocessor standalone by feeding it pcm data from a headerless pcm file (mono, 22050hz) and then write the result to another file. Unfortunately, all I get back is noise (first frame is set to 0, rest is noise). Frame size is set to 440. I am able to run the preprocessor and get the VAD flag for each frame, and I am quite happy with it's performance. The off dependencies are only for speexenc and speexdec, as far as I recall. If you omit those targets, you shouldn't have the ogg dependency issues. So... if voice is not detected I just reduce the agc value in order to not amplify the 'silence' otherwise we just increase the agc value if it is below the minimum.
