Speex on windows, audio cutting out ("bug" discussion and fixes)
Hi Kelly,
Sorry if I'm just stating the obvious, but ..
Are you calling the speex API from multiple threads?
If so, I suspect that if you use a mutex to ensure that only one thread can access the speex API at a given moment, the problem will go away. Obviously this reduces the scalability of your program, but it makes a good test. If that fixes it, then I recommend changing the code to

Speex on windows, audio cutting out ("bug" discussion and fixes)
I very much appreciate the help trying to find a more satisfying reason
behind my bug :)
We do mutex access to each speex state, but we rely on the re-entrance
of the API and do not mutex around all access to the API.
However, when I am only listening to one person (and therefore only have
one speex state) I'm essentially mutexing the API :) and the high pass
filter buffer goes to NaN.

Continous decoding of several audio files without destroying speex_decoder
Hi All,
We are using speex decoder only for narrow band decoding.
Quite often, even though source frame is not silence, decoded audio is
silence.
I wonder there is a problem in the way we uses speex decoder API.
Basically, we initialize speex decoder only once and just reset the decoder
before we decoding another file.
Do we need to intialize speex decoder and destory decoder for each audio
file

compiling ffmpeg with --enable-libspeex (was Re: from Adobe Flex / Flash Player 10 .flv Speex via Red5 to .wav PCM?)
I am having trouble compiling ffmpeg to support speex, which didn't
work with the ubuntu libspeex-dev package, but looks like it might
with the Speex version 1.2rc1 tarball from http://speex.org/downloads/
How do I tell ffmpeg's configure and/or make to use the 1.2rc1 version
of libspeex in /usr/local/include instead of the older debian/ubuntu
libspeex-dev package in /usr/include/speex?

I checked there is one symbian project file, including bld and mmp
files in speex-1.2rc1.
But while I import the project and compile in Carbide. It showing so

Come one come all! We're having the next Asterisk evening at the
Fujitsu Centre for Excellence! This is Fuji's state of the art
show-off centre - they're promising lots of interesting toys to play
with. As usual, we'll be discussing developments in Asterisk land over

Introduction and patch
Hi,
I'm one of the people working on the Rockbox project
(http://www.rockbox.org) which is an open source alternative firmware
for a range Digital Audio Players. Recently we integrated support for
the Speex codec using libspeex and seems to work well. If you could add
Rockbox to your list of software that supports Speex, that'd be great.
So that's the introduction done. Now for

basic include files for speex
Hi Jean,
I'm trying to compile the encode.c and or the test programs that are on the site and in libspeex respectively. however, i keep getting some undefined references to the basic speex functions(see compiler log). a query on google showed that this question was posed but no answer given. I traced them down to speex.c. however when i build my project i still get these undefined referneces.

Re: Problem with Blackfin assembly optimizations -- bug in fixed_bfin.h / resampler saturation???
Hi,
when I compile with FIXED_DEBUG enabled, I get an error -- both when make tries to build testenc.o and when I try to link my app against the speex lib:
lorenz@panelmaker:~/Blackfin/tests/speex_loopthrough$ make
bfin-uclinux-gcc -c -g -I/home/lorenz/include -o main.o main.c
bfin-uclinux-gcc -gl -elf2flt -L/home/lorenz/lib -o speex_through main.o -lspeex_debug -lspeexdsp -lm

Re: Problem with Blackfin assembly optimizations -- bug in fixed_bfin.h / resampler saturation???
Hi Jean-Marc,
after some problems with getting svn to work here I finally made it. Problem is, you write that I cannot use libspeex and libspeexdsp at the same time now -- because I use a "live" system (mic-in -> speex_enc -> speex_dec -> headphone out) and I can run the AD1836 audio codec on 48 kHz only, I cannot use my program now (because I use speex resampling...)
So I

help using libspeex in win32
Hi all,
i'm going to try to create an app using libspeex (Speex 1.1.10) and Visual
Studio and just have a few questions.
First, what's the difference between libspeex and libspeex_dynamic? Do I
need to include both projects in my new workspace?
Next, how do I enable fixed_point using libspeex? Am I correct in assuming
that an ARM processor would be able to record speech as speex files

Problem with Blackfin assembly optimizations -- bug in fixed_bfin.h / resampler saturation???
Jean-Marc, Frank,
I have stumbled across a similar situation regarding optimization.
I seem to have a similar setup as Frank does with a fixed 48khz in and out. The wideband mode and ultra-wideband modes are really what I?m looking for.
I have a test application that reads audio, downsample to 16kHz (or 32kHz), speex encode, speex decode, upsample back to 48kHz, and playback.
If I remove

running speex on c5505 usb sticki
Hi,
I am currently working on C5505 USB stick
http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tmdx5505ezdsp.html to sample
input voice and encode it. For compiling and buring usual programs, I am
using CCStudio 4.0.
For encoding voice samples, I am using Speex codec binary

Library split (poll)
Hi everyone,
In the 1.1.x branch, I've kept adding more stuff to libspeex:
preprocessor, AEC, etc. I'm now considering moving all those to a
separate library (libvoip, libspeech, whatever). Anyone on this list has
good reasons I should consider for either splitting or not splitting
libspeex?
Cheers,
Jean-Marc

Speex 1.2beta3 is out!
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that version 1.2beta3 is out. The main change is
the split into libspeex and libspeexdsp. Basically, libspeex keeps the
codec (just like it was for 1.0.x) and libspeexdsp has all the new
components. Other changes include a new jitter buffer algorithm and
resampler improvements/fixes. This is also the first release where
libspeex can be built without any floating
