[patch] speex_preprocess_ctl
Did you check it against the trunk in SVN? If it's not applied, and you can hook Jean-Marc up with an email address like yours, I'm sure he will get right on it. :) Tom Mihai Balea <mihai@hates.ms> wrote: > > Hi all, > > Did anything happen to this patch? > It seems to me that it fixes a valid issue, but I'm not an expert. > Anyways, I didn't see

Obtaining loudness information in 1.2beta2
What would be a good parameter to return that would better represent the loudness of the signal? As for the your other comments, I'll make the necessary changes and resubmit. AEC gets worse as sample rate increases
Hi all, I am attempting to test AEC behavior at various sample rates. I ran a little experiment: I recorded a 10 seconds voice clip and the resampled at 8000, 11025, 16000, 22050, 24000, 32000, 44100 and 48000. I have a small applications that plays a wave file, records whatever comes in from the microphone and applies the Speex AEC and preprocessor on the input. It then saves the raw

Echo Can Tail Length
Hi, I've been trying to understand the documentation on the Speex echo canceller, and unless I'm confused, I think there's a mistake somewhere. The documentation on http://speex.org/docs/manual/speex-manual/node7.html#SECTION00740000000000000000 says, " The recommended tail length is approximately the third of the room reverberation time". However, the Octave script

Questions about the resampler
Hi all, I have a couple of questions about the speex resampler: 1. Can a resampler state be used to process frames belonging to several audio streams? I would guess that there is information about the audio streams stored in the state so the answer is no, but it would be good to have some confirmation. 2. What is the best way to reset a resampler state? speex_resampler_reset_mem appears

AEC params
Hi: I have been trying to test the speex AEC by playing a voice sample (pre-recorded) as a echo and capturing a new voice sample and playing the pre-recorded one, for reference. [Sampling rate 8 KHz, frame size 64] For some reason, I dont see any removal of echo. Does anybody have a idea of * Testing the AEC in some other mechanism or * Getting some sample files for testing AEC Thanks Su ---

If there are still analog devices in addition to VoIP, I'd say always, but Asterisk has a rudimentary echo canceller already on board. The Telcos use echo cancellers themselves, but it cannot hurt to

Dereverberation - is it work?
Hello, I'm using Speex1.1.11.1 source code. I enabled dereverb by speex_preprocess_ctl(). I try different dereverb_level and dereverb_decay values and it seems to not work. I generate some test files in CoolEdit using reverb or echo and then preprocess it by speex_preprocess(preprocess, input, NULL); and output is the same as input:(. Denoising and VAD works very good. I tried dereverb with

Speech switching in speakerphone?
Hi Jean-Marc > Can you explain what you mean here by "speech switching" By speech switching I mean the adaption of "gain2" when near-end or far-end is talking. What is important is that the timing is good and that the gain is low/high while far/near-end is talking. By timing I mean that the "gain2" should remain low until all far-end talk is final and that the

Some Speex AGC Questions
I'm attempting to use speex preprocess for automatic gain control in an application I'm working on and could use some help. I'm using Opus as my codec. In order to keep the number of packets down, I'm using 60msec frames. I'm sampling at 48KHz as is recommended for Opus. So, the frame length is 2880 samples and the sampling rate is 48000. The source of the data is a

AEC params
Hi: Can anyone give some insight on: 1) As per the Speex manual, there is a mention of the relationship between input frame and echo frame (Pg 19, Para 2). I was wondering of what would be the ideal delay between these two frames, so that the echo is already fed to the canceller and the echo cancellation filter is not inefficient. 2) Corresponding to the above mentioned delay, what filter

But if you think it helps, I can compile gcc 4.1 and give it a shot. >> Compile flags: >> DEFINES +=

How to load functions in R
Hello, I am trying to use self created functions in other scripts than the one where they are stored. For the moment I am using the following structure of commands to do that: 1. Load the text file with the functions in the current script: x=parse("path") 2. transform the tex in a function: f1=eval(x[1]), f2=eval(x[2]) if more than one function is stored in the text file 3. use the
