Speex Example Build for TI DSP C54x C55x C6x DSPs
The attached file contains build files for TI's Code Composer Studio (CCS) for the C54x, C55x, and C6x DSPs. I had intended to post this a couple of months ago, but it took a long time to get around to doing the little bit of cleanup required. This is a file I/O loopback application suitable for running with the CCS simulators, for evaluating memory and MIPs requirements for these

Re: Patch, related to TI DSP C54x C55x C6x builds
Hi Jim, Thank for the patch. I'll apply it when I have a few minutes. If I haven't done so after a few weeks, please send it again. I'm in the process of relocating to Australia, so everything's a bit of a mess around here. Also, please post the c5X-specific files to the list (.cmd, .pjt, ...) so they'll be archived. Last thing, I see you defined spx_word64_t as long long for

Major internal changes, TI DSP build change
Hi Jim, > Build 11169 in SVN works correctly. Good. I'll try not to forget the EXTEND32 from now on. > I have attached a zip file (renamed > .txt) with a patch to bits.c to make the byteswapping for TI DSPs > consistent. Seems like unzip can't read it. Either it's in an unknown format or the file got corrupted. Could simply send as multiple (uncompressed)

Major internal changes, TI DSP build change
Jean-Marc, Here are the patches, broken out one per file. I did some additional work in the testenc files based on Peter Mlakar's post to make it easier (though still a bit klunky) to try different rates. These changes also incorporate the file window.c into the builds, change the decoder startup delay to account for the change in the algorithm delay from 10ms to 5ms, and change bits.c

Updated MIPs and memory requirements for TI c54x or c55DSPs
Hi, Just a couple tips to reduce complexity. First, I think you'd get a good speedup by enabling the PRECISION16 switch (if it's not done already). This (very) slightly reduces quality, but means you convert a lot of "emulated" 16x32 multiplications into 16x16. There are also several routines that would benefit from platform-specific optimizations. There are already

some questions about speex on TMS and also unsubscribe
Hi; I have a question about speex on TMS320C54X: I have build and run the related project on Code Composer Studio IDE (ver. 3.1) and the male.snd (93.7KB) was its input file and malebits5x.dat (5.85KB) and maleout5x.snd (93.5KB) are output files. What is malebits5x.dat file? if it is encoded file, why I could'nt decode it? Also if maleout5x.snd is output recoverd file why after

I think I've fixed all occurrences (by adding EXTEND32)

Using Speex on OMAP5910 OSK board
Hello,   I have an OMAP5910 OSK board with C55 dsp and ARM9 processor. I just want to use speex as a simple application on the platform in order to check dsp's working well or not.   First, I found speex's source codes include "ti/speex_C55_test" directory so I thought speex could run on my platform well. Second, I open "Code Composer

speex and omap
Hello ! I am developing a kind of phone using TI's OMAP 5912 and speex. The soft works great on ARM, and it is time to move speex and voice processing stuff to DSP. Could some one point me how to do it ? Should I install CCS ? Or it possible to compile speex using just ti_dsptools ? Does anybody ran speex and dsp gateway ? It would be great, if some one share makefile, cmd etc. for

Decode win32 encoded files on TI C5x???
I have successfully DECODED speex on TI C5509: #define TESTENC_BYTES_PER_FRAME 20 /* 8kbps */ #define TESTENC_QUALITY 4 /* 8kbps */ I am trying to generate the files I need with speexenc.exe: speexenc -n --quality 4 -V male.wav male.spx But I can't decode the files on C5x. Yes, I have seen that speexenc.exe adds Ogg header and

Speex 1.2beta1: Better, smaller, faster and more
Speex 1.2beta1 announcement: This new release brings many significant improvements. The quality has been improved, both at the encoder level and the decoder level. These include enhancer improvements (now on by default), input/output high-pass filters, as well as fixing minor regressions in previous 1.1.x releases. A strange and rare instability problem with pure sinusoids has also been fixed. On

Speex for TI 5509 DSP
Jamey, There is a previous posting in the speex archives with a link to the dsp c5x patch. Archive link: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/speex-dev/2004-October/002847.html Patch link: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/speex-dev/attachments/20041029/facb8c73/spee x-1.1.6-jeh1-0001.bin But that patch is very different (much smaller) then the dsp c5x patch at

Decode win32 encoded files on TI C5x???

There is no such a thing as a "raw Speex format". Also, sampleenc.c and sampledec.c are good for learning how to use the API, but the compressed format shouldn't be used in

Please test upcoming release
Hi Jim, Actually, I don't see anything wrong with the internal structure having a different type than the interface, as long both types are big enough to hold the possible values (in this case 0 and 1). Though, as you pointed out, testenc needs to be fixed to use spx_int32_t instead of int. I'll change that. Jean-Marc Jim Crichton a ?crit : > st->highpass_enabled is typed
