About sample code
I write a sample code like speex provide , as follows: SpeeXCodec::SpeeXCodec() { rate = 8000; speex_bits_init(&enbits); speex_bits_init(&debits); enc_state = speex_encoder_init(&speex_nb_mode); dec_state = speex_decoder_init(&speex_nb_mode); // set option for encoder speex_encoder_ctl(enc_state, SPEEX_GET_FRAME_SIZE, &frame_size); speex_encoder_ctl(enc_state,

encoding -> decoding doesnt work
hi all, i'm new to speex and i'm stuck on a problem. I have a buffer that holds 5 seconds of audio data, sampled at 16000 hz and quantitized with 16 bits pcm. I only want to encode it with speex and then decode it and write it back in the same buffer. no compiling errors and no errors during runtime, but from the sample of 5 seconds only a short noise is all I get. I hope you have any

Invalid mode encountered: corrupted stream?
Hi, in my application i quite often (not allways) get those two warning: "Invalid mode encountered: corrupted stream?" "Invalid wideband mode encountered: corrupted stream?" The stream is not corrupted but i wish to know what those warning mean to correct my code. My encode and decode routines are those (libspeex 1.1.4): SpeexBits enc_bits, dec_bits; void *enc_state,

problem: The decoded frame is not as the original one
Hi All, i need your help in determining the problem in the following sample code (taken from speex manual) for fixed point encoding. i tested encoding a 160 sample frame and then decoding it back But The problem is that the decoded frame is totally different from the original frame(see output below).What is the possible reason for this?.thanks for any help #include<stdio.h>

Re: High pitched whine with Speex
When I just copy the microphone input buffer to the output buffer the sound plays OK. But if I encode and decode the buffer through Speex I get a high pitched constant tone in the background. I actually do hear my voice speaking when I talk, but it's faint and much quieter than the tone. Here's what my data looks like: Input is the first 5 floats of each input buffer. Output is

[BombData][alltestmode] Re: [SPAM] [BombData][alltestmode] Re: Speex EchoCancellation
Well, I'm not a professional in AEC theory, but what I've mentioned is: speex_echo_state_init(20, 320*10) - frame size should correspond to 20ms. At your sampling rate (16000hz) is should be 16K*0.02 = 320. The same I can notice about echo tail. 100ms: 16000*0.3 = 4800, not 3200 as you has. But that's not crucial I think. Just wanna you get the point. "Internally,

Re: High pitched whine with Speex
Changing from using floats to shorts did fix the high pitched tone problem. I'm having other problems but I'll look into it more first. Speex (in ios) really poor quality (and robotic) sound
Hi everyone, I'm trying to encode/decode with speex, when I do not, the audio is loud and clear, but when I encode/decode to test audio quality, I get a really poor audio quality and a robotic sound. Here's my init audio method : #define AUDIO_QUALITY 10 - (void) initAudio { try { //SPEEX CONFIG speex_bits_init(&bits_in);

Encode-Decode Problem
I have non terminate loop when decode speex bits stream. These are my pseudocode for encoding and decoding -- Encode -- while(stillhaveinput) { speex_encode(enc_state, curr_spx_frame, &bits); } speex_bits_insert_terminator(&bits); speex_bits_write(&bits,(char *)(pBufferOut),MAX_LEN); -- Decode (these code loop forever) -- speex_bits_read_from(&bits, (char *) pBuf,act_length);

SpeexCodec run in linux of decode
Hi , may I ask some question about the decode files? here is my decode.c but when the program run to speex_encoder_destroy(state); It shows that segmentation fault ,I feel comfused, could you tell thanks! #define MAX_FRAME_SIZE 320 int main() { FILE *fout; char *inFile; FILE *fin; short out[MAX_FRAME_SIZE]; char cbits[200]; int nbBytes; void *state; SpeexBits bits; //int tmp; int

decode problem
Hi I am using first time speex library, and this is my first problem. I need to decode AMR-NB packet to PCM. I read all manual instruction and I wrote these simple lines of code. bool CMMediaObj::AmrInit() { speex_bits_init(&bits); destate = speex_decoder_init(&speex_nb_mode); int tmp=1; speex_decoder_ctl(destate, SPEEX_SET_ENH,

Speex Decoding Issue
Dear Speex community, I am having problems to get the Speex Decoding API to work properly in our project. I am working in an embedded project with a very limited RAM and Flash memory and would like to use Speex encoded files to save memory while having good voice sounds in our speakers. I have developed a Windows-based tool to convert WAV files to Speex files in packets of 160 bytes (we are

Just getting noise
The way I do this is to compute the number of frames (by dividing the size of my input by the number of bytes per frame and then calling speex_encode_int() that many times. Something like speex_bits_reset( &bits ); for( n = 0; n < num_frames; ++n ) { speex_encode_int( enc_state, (int16_t*)input_tail,

ARM7 Speex decoder
Dear All I ported the speex decoder in LPC2000 ARM7 family. Because I fetched the .ogg file from and external MMC card, I can only red a limited memory block 1) Can I decode only a block of a speex file at time ? /*Create a new decoder state in narrowband mode*/ state = speex_decoder_init(&speex_nb_mode); /*Set the perceptual enhancement on*/ tmp=1;

problems decoding speex... please help
Hi all. I'm trying to decode speex using version 1.1.10's libspeex with fixed_point enabled. copied the sample in the manual (1.1.11) with minor revisions. While running the program, encountered this warning: "Packet is larger than allocated buffer : 38" when calling speex_bits_read_from (&bits, cbits, nBytes) then my program terminated unexpectedly with errors (Unhandled

Continous decoding of several audio files without destroying speex_decoder
Hi All, We are using speex decoder only for narrow band decoding. Quite often, even though source frame is not silence, decoded audio is silence. I wonder there is a problem in the way we uses speex decoder API. Basically, we initialize speex decoder only once and just reset the decoder before we decoding another file. Do we need to intialize speex decoder and destory decoder for each audio file
