Fwd: [bug & patch] libstdc++ in linux_base-7.1_3
Hey guys, hope you don't mind this forward email, because I have been reading the 'flashpluginwrapper problem.' subject. The bug is in the linux_base, but nobody seem to check on this in the freebsd-ports. Looks like Brandon D. Valentine might needs to create a PR to get the better attention and keep the track. Cheers, Mezz >Summary: > >This began as a problem report

Stereo speex on Blackfin
Hi, I'm trying to encode a stereo speex file on the blackfin without much luck. This is a standalone application with no OS using the speex library provided in the blackfin multimedia sdk. I believe this library was ported to run using Visual DSP++ by Jean-Marc (may be wrong). I have mono encoding working fine, to add stereo encoding I just added a call to speex_encode_stereo_int()

ARM7 Speex decoder
Dear Jan My intention is to read a piece at time of an .ogg file (stored in and external Multimedia card) decompress it and render it on and LPC2000 DAC. Because I don't have enough RAM memory to load the complete ogg file, I must read only a piece of file at certain time, then decompress and render it, and repeat the previous process until the end of the file. The problem is that I don't

Installing Centos-6 32 bit
Is a guide to installing Centos 6 32 bit that covers such things like: Minimal Kickstart example file Centos 6 multimedia repos Plus any other things I need to be aware of when moving from 5.8 to 6.2 (I know the latest version is 6.3 but I will let yum deal with that when I upgrade the installed packages.) Cannot update xiph repository
Hi, I apologise for the naiveness of this question, but I experienced an error when running apt-get update on Debian 9. It’s telling me that it can’t update the xiph repository. Not sure if I should be asking for help about this here, but if not… please let me know where I should take this issue. Any help is appreciated. AEC strangest behavior
Hello. I have the following situation. AEC is used in network chat software over DirectSound API. Echo and reference signals are almost aligned (delay is no more than 30ms). When echo is emulated in notebook (built-in speakers + mic) everything goes fine and echo is cancelled. But when configuration includes stand-alone speakers and mic no echo is removed. Audio is in 22050 hz at 16 bit

Speex realtime encoding/decoding "Real world" usage for Windows Mobile / Symbian device
hi all, I can claim that our hotfoon service has run millions of mobile voip minutes using speex on mobile and desktops. it works! earlier you needed more powerful cpus (until the integer port), however now the cpus are much faster and the code complexity is much lower. my only regret is of not being able to write some demo apps for speex on win mob. I will surely deliver it in june to settle this

AEC troubleshooting
First of all, thank you for your input Tim. That is very helpful. I would love to hear from other people with experience of AEC and Speex. I guess I have to split my question into to parts now. 1. Is it a fact that using the windows multimedia API (wave audio) for audio capture and playback makes it impossible to do echo cancellation with Speex AEC or other EC method due to inprecise timing? I

Conflict Between R and multimedia repositories
Dear All, I have just installed a fresh Debian testing (squeeze) on my system (amd64 architecture). I am experiencing some really strange problems in updating my system whenever I have both the R repository and the multimedia repository available. This is my source.list (when I disable the multimedia repository) ~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/ testing main

AEC strangest behavior
If more than one speaker receives the *same* signal, it doesn't matter the number of speakers. It only gets tricky when the speakers are playing slightly different signals (e.g. from a stereo song). Additional ogg audio fomats (speex, flac, PCM)
Hi After much googling, am struggling to find either: a) a command-line utility that allows me to encode to non-vorbis ogg audio (*nix) b) example files of the above Am building a program part of which reads stream meta from uploaded audio files, and so have written a lightweight getid3-like set of classes that do this. Am handling ogg vorbis perfectly well already and would like to test it

what multimedia framework does Centos use
Hi, Thanks for quick reply. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimedia_framework There are many popular types of multimedia framework, such as gstreamer and directshow. I want to make transcoding program in centos 6.7 which is installed in a server. ffmpeg is used as the core of transcoding program. And I should choose one multimedia framework to do software development. Which framework is

Speex on Power PC
Hallo followers, We had a look on speex codec and we found it interesting, also due to the affinity we had with our boards GNU environment. We have a Linux platform over a PowerPC (133, or 266 MHz) with 115 to 200 Drystone mips available. No FPU is available, and I am a little bit concerned by a sentence I saw in the FAQ "speex uses massively floating point". Do you think it is a too

Problems with Speex Resamplers
Colin, If you're using stereo audio with the resampler, there is a bug that can occur under certain situations (and maybe that's what's been happening to you). Check out: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/speex-dev/2009-August/007406.html With that patch, I've used the resampler extensively in many situations without any problems. ARM7 Speex decoder
Dear Ralph Thank you for your info. My file_read() function only get a specified number (nbBytes) of bytes from the .ogg file and store it in cbits, nothing else lb = file_read(&file, nbBytes, (void *)cbits); Unfortunately I have only 32K (first section) + 8 (second section) = 40 Kbyte of RAM to do all, including the file system management (I get the FS from the EFSL project). [LLVMdev] [PTX] Should we keep backward-compatibility of PTX?
Hi Justin, There are some backward incompatible features of PTX; for example, special registers are redefined as v4i32 (they were v4i16) in PTX 2.0. And CUDA 4.0 was rolled out last week. I heard that some instructions are deprecated. I am not sure how stable (or unstable) PTX specification is. Do you have a rough assessment of its stability? If PTX specification is still fast evolving, I would

Trouble in decoding speex on PC
Hi, I am trying to develop a command line utility on PC side which will decode the encoded speex file without any header - ie. raw speex encoded data. I downloaded the speex-1.2rc1 version and used the testenc.c under libspeex library. Just to make sure that things are working fine, encoded a .raw audio file and could get the .bit and decoded audio raw file which was validated by using a raw to
