Narrowband (8 kHz), wideband (16 kHz), and ultra-wideband (32 kHz) compression in the same bitstream What is the meaning of this? can i find more information about this somewhere? Speex granulepos definition
Jean-Marc, What exactly does the speex code do to calculate the granulepos? With vorbis it's the 'count of decodable samples including this packet'. So if you had a packet that allowed you to decode 1024 samples since the beginning of playback, the granulepos is 1024, not for example 1023 which would be the *index* of the last sample assuming C-style array indicies starting at

Gapless Support
Hi, i?m not part of the FLAC project, but i have a question regarding FLAC and Gapless support I hope, I get an answer from some of you ;-) We are currently try to add Gapless support on our device If we rip an CD with our device, we can find out, that one track follow after another so we can recognize, that the tracks are gapless or not. But how can we find that out on already existing

Hello, I was hoping that this would work: http://blogs.sun.com/zhangfan/entry/how_to_turn_a_mirror I have 4x(1TB) disks, one of which is filled with 800GB of data (that I cant delete/backup somewhere else) > root at FSK-Backup:~# zpool create -f ambry raidz1 c4t0d0 c5t0d0 c5t1d0 > /dev/lofi/1 > root at FSK-Backup:~# zpool list > NAME SIZE USED AVAIL CAP HEALTH ALTROOT

2 questions, frame size and SPEEX_GET_LOOKAHEAD
1. What to do with the last frame that is smaller then frame size? During encoding, the last frame is often smaller than the required frame size. In the sample code, proper number of zeros are padded at the end. So if I don't want those padded zero after decoding, I assume that it is up to me to keep track of the number of zeros. Is it right? 2. What does SPEEX_GET_LOOKAHEAD do? How to

Idea for gapless tracks
We all know that currently Vorbis is the only codec out there that doesn't add any silence to the decoded file, so when you decode your .ogg file the resulting .wav will be exactly the same length as the original one. This is very useful when encoding gapless songs (like live concerts...). But since Vorbis is a lossy codec, even though there is no silence added, sometimes you can still hear a

flac-1.1.2-win
Hi Martijn Thank you for the link. Could those old installers be taken down or at least moved to a 'old' folder ? I'm new to this, so I am a good example of how a new user works. I use google, or I visit the homepage, and then I download and install. As that installer version doesn't work at all, it cant convert WAV files, I suggest to delete it completely. Regards, Jonny On

flac-1.1.2-win
Moving them will break links, and they should be kept for future reference. The installer works properly on Windows XP and earlier, it was broken because of the UAC introduced in Vista. Cannot connect when using BindAddress
I want tinc to listen locally on loopback, so that port 655 is not exposed on any system interfaces. Can't tinc make outbound connections when listening on loopback? I can't see any reason why it should. This system will never have other tinc daemons connect to it, it will only ever connect to other tinc daemons in order to establish a VPN connection. -- Jonny Tyers On Sat, 17 Nov 2018

just curious...
does ogg vorbis or any other format currently allow say, a whole cd recorded and compressed into one file, but with points stating where one track begins and ends, so you can just play certain songs out of this file, or possibly cut songs out of the file into seperate tracks. or is there any format that will do this in the future? (like ogg vorbis maybe). just wondering, thanks! Andy

ices2 metadata update causes gaps
Mike... did you look into this? I posted a waveform from a file generated by ogg123 dumping to a wav (so that audio driver problems were eliminated). It looks to me like ices2 is restarting the vorbis encoder in a non-gapless way when it stops and starts the encoding (to change the stream id and update the metadata). Because I'm doing crossfades from one track to another, this shows up.

AJAX Search w/database results
Hey, I have a main page that lists a table of Devices, along with a Search box. I''d like to have the Search field pull up any related Devices, and then re-populate the table. I can do this without AJAX, just calling my List action over again, passing the params to search on, but with AJAX I get the error, "Cannot convert nil to string" on this line: @device_pages, @devices =
