To symbian and speex developers! Building instructions
Hello to everyone! During building speex library for Symbian OS I encountered some problems. All thess problems can be solved by modifying the speex sources. I don't have access to SVN repository of speex, so I will just describe the changes to be done: 1) mmp file in symbian derictory misses windows.c sources. You need to add this string into speex.mmp: SOURCES windows.c 2) Symbian OS

compiling ffmpeg with --enable-libspeex (was Re: from Adobe Flex / Flash Player 10 .flv Speex via Red5 to .wav PCM?)
I am having trouble compiling ffmpeg to support speex, which didn't work with the ubuntu libspeex-dev package, but looks like it might with the Speex version 1.2rc1 tarball from http://speex.org/downloads/ How do I tell ffmpeg's configure and/or make to use the 1.2rc1 version of libspeex in /usr/local/include instead of the older debian/ubuntu libspeex-dev package in /usr/include/speex?

Newbie - Encoding PCM
Hi all, i've to encode voice from a voicemodem. I choose speex 1.0.5 for its quality in voice encoding. I've tried to implement an encoder but unsuccesfully. Here's my code: /* ============ SPEEX stream ENCODER ============================================ */ int SPEEX_EncodePCM(struct _IDA_ClientSocket *IDA,char *buffer, unsigned char *PCM,int num_samples) { /* buffer point to the

Multichannel Speex
Hello! The question is: "Does Speex support multiple channels?" Speex is reported to encode only mono and stereo signals. But I found 'nb_channel' defined in <speex_header.h> among the Public Attributes. Does this mean that it is also possible to store more than two channels in one single speex-file? Maybe it will be possible in the next future...? TIA -- Mch --- >8

How to create a compact Speex library
Hi, Sorry if this a repost but I want to create the smallest Speex library possible to be put in TI's TMS320 DSP. I'm only interested in one configuration: 5.97 Kbps narrowband. What part of source code can I remove? Currently, when I compiled the version 1.1.12 libspeex.a library with the TI TMS320 and Fixed-Integer options, I get around 522Kb. I would like to reduce it to as small

FW: Echo Cancellation
Hello, I am testing speex 1.1.6's echo canceller. I am using testecho.c, with a few modifications to get it to run on Windows. My problem is that I am unable to get the echo cancellation to work correctly. I am working on an audio conferencing software, and one issue we have is sometimes the microphone picks up what is being played through the headset, resulting in an echo of the other

Cross-compiling with Cirrus Logic MaverickCrunch support
Hi Jean-Marc, I have the following problem when cross-building speex 1.1.7 with MaverickCrunch support. To add this support I had to define CPPFLAGS as follows: export CPPFLAGS='-mcpu=ep9312 -mfix-crunch-d1' but it seems libtool does not like it, while the object files are compiled fine: ... arm-linux-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../include

Feedback on Ogg Speex file format
Hi, I'm the main author of Speex (http://speex.sourceforge.net), an open-source speech codec that uses Ogg for file storage. I'd like to have feedback on the way we store Speex data in Ogg files to make sure we do the right thing. The Speex documentation can be found at http://speex.sourceforge.net/manual/ but here's the part about Ogg: <p><p>Speex bit-streams can be
