Crash in cb_search.c, line 414
That's quite strange. The only thing I can say is that the bug is most
likely *not* around line 414. It's probably some sort of memory
corruption somewhere else (quite possibly outside of Speex). Do you have
any more information? What CPU? What's the value of best_ntarget[j]? Is
SSE enabled? What's the allocation method (VAR_ARRAYS/USE_ALLOCA)? What
compiler.

mingw (native gcc for win32) doesn't officially support using gcc 4.0
and 4.1 yet (apparantly there have been some issues), so there are no
binary packages. But if you think it helps, I can compile gcc 4.1 and
give it a shot.

Denoiser level and AEC problem
Hello,
Is it possible to adjust the level of the denoiser ?
In an old beta, before you change the aggressiveness of the denoiser, it
works very well with the noise of a car, a road etc... but not now.
The AEC too works very well in a old beta, but now, I think there is a
problem... I have tested it with the same sound card (WB 16000).
In any case, your project is the best VOIP library in this

The denoiser was good with a car noise or a raod noise before the r11739.
But for some situation, the actual version is perfect. That's why I think
that if we can adjust the agressivity of the denoiser, we can respond to all
of the situations. Maybe two parameters should be enough : high or low.

I am bring SPEEX up on Analog Device's Blackfin (using Visual DSP++ tool set). The floating point was too slow on this fixed-point processor so I am going for the integer version.
The floating point library build was very clean, but when I build with FIXED_POINT defined, the compiler exits when it find this discrepancy in \libspeex\cb_search.c :

Stack Overflow
Guys,
Program stack is getting overflowed when I create and destroy encoder instance continuously for around 30 times. How can I ensure stack is completely freed when I destroy the encoder instance? I tried with VAR_ARRAYS. But Its giving me errors while I try to compile. I suppose VAR_ARRAYS allocates local variables as arrays so that they could go on to stack and finally when we leave the

Attempting to shrink speex: Are these functions necessary?
I'm glad to hear that my data size can be shrunk considerably, however I do not know the minimum values that I would set the static arrays to be. I hate to be a bother but could you tell me the minimum values for these arrays/structures in the state structure? Thanks!

11kbps narrowband on a 24bit DSP

Speex crashing on ARM with assembler optimization enabled.
Hi,
I'm trying to get speex working on an ARM board (ARM926EJ-Sid(wb) core,
ARM 5TE architecture) and getting segfaults if build with "--enable-fixed-point
--enable-arm5e-asm" options. If I use just "--enable-fixed-point", then
it runs fine, but once I add "--enable-arm5e-asm" it start crashing
(I use testenc to test it).

Threading issues with CELT?
Hi,
I'm using CELT encoder/decoder from several threads (but *different* encoder/decoder objects from the different threads) and I have various crash or "abort" (like ec_byte_write_at_end calling "celt_fatal("byte buffer collision");"
It there any threading issues to known when using CELT?
