NLMS filter length for AEC
Hi all, I have a query. I developed NLMS acoustic echo cancellation algorithm for real time voip application and using general purpose processor. Used more filter length (4096/2048) for NLMS and faced CPU consumption. With less filter length unable to estimate the exact echo signal and the quality of the speech also getting degraded. Could any one please suggest me the filter length

Speex echo cancellation: hi pass filtering? low latency?
Hello, I tried to use speex echo canceller for a live performance setup to cancell feedback. My program buffers input until collecting a speex frame size of samples, then calls speex_echo_cancellation passing this buffer as input signal and previous speex output as echo signal, then immediately plays current speex output. First thing I noticed was huge high pass filtering. Then I found out there

need a help for using AEC
speex-devDear Jean-Marc Valin I got some problems with evaluating the AEC module of speex. I wrote a test main function and compiled it with the speex lib in VC6.0, it initialized the AEC state and called the AEC main function in the same way as what was done in testecho.c. The near-end input wave file was a simple delaying and adding version of the far-end input wave, eg. y(n) =

rsync 2.5.5 port to Novell NetWare
Hullo, all. I diligently consulted the suggested reading on the way in: > Welcome to the rsync@lists.samba.org mailing list! PLEASE READ THIS > IMPORTANT ETIQUETTE MESSAGE BEFORE POSTING: > http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html 'Twas a quick read, given that I'm the co-author. ;-> I recently received an odd inquiry from someone I didn't know at all,

Problems with Speex echo canceller in 1.1.10
I'm having trouble getting the echo canceller to work and I'm hoping some one can get me started in diagnosing what's going on. The symptoms I'm seeing are these: 1. If the NES is silence (i.e., no echo, no speech), the ec puts the FES back into the audio. 2. If the NES is similar to the FES (same speech words), the ec doesn't seem to remove the echo. 3. For case #2, I pushed

The AEC is not designed to cancel sinusoids. Try with speech. Jean-Marc Johnson Peng a ?crit : > speex-devDear Jean-Marc Valin I got some problems with evaluating the > AEC module of speex. ajax insertion into a form
After an ajax insertion in the dom, it seems the browser don''t refresh its knowledge of the page. The source of the page is identical after the insertion, whereas the display is correct. The ajax insertion is used to add an input field. The added fields are ignored by the submission of the form. Isn''t it possible to do that, or maybe there''s a problem in my code

H.264 *Not Patented*
The H.264 codec patent by Qualcomm has been ruled invalid by a San Diego Federal jury: http://www.eetimes.com/news/semi/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=197001066 . That means that H.264 codecs can now be written, distributed and revised freely under any license their authors choose, including GPL, public domain, or any other, and $free now that royalties are no longer required. How does H.264

Solving a tridiagonal system
I need to find solutions to a tridiagonal system. By this I mean a set of linear equations Ax = d where A is a square matrix containing elements A[i,i-1], A[i,i] and A[i,i+1] for i in 1:nrow, and zero elsewhere. R is probably not the ideal way to do this, but this is part of a larger problem that requires R. In my application it is much easier (and much faster) to generate the diagonal and

sparse matrix tools
Dear R-Help list: I'm using the Matrix library to operate on 600 X ~5000 element unsymmetrical sparse arrays. So far, so good, but if I find I need more speed or functionality, how hard would it be to utilize other sparse matrix toolsets from within R, say MUMPS, PARDISO or UMFPACK, that do not have explicit R interfaces? More information on these is available here

winemp3, mpg123 Patent concerns
Hi all, I check WineHQ today and was suprised that the new dev version was released on a Wednesday, not a Friday. Then I saw "Use of external libmpg123 for mp3 decoding." [Shocked] Now MP3 playback is built in? Or does this feature only hook onto an external program? If it's built in then Wine is illegal in my country, where software patents apply. Or does software patents only

Is there any SCCP patent issue?
if you buy ci$co phone with correct firmware licence (skinny or sip), you can use it, what you want, especialy true with sip (because callmanager doesn't even support sip phones ;-) PJ Harald Milz wrote: >Hi, > >So - is there a legal issue with using SCCP in >Asterisk, or using Cisco phones with Asterisk? > >Any legal insight would be welcome! > >/hm > >

Good news regarding Wine and patent threats
There's a groklaw article summarizing recent discussion about the impact of the Bilski case on software patents: http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20081102011538422 "The judge says this kind of cloning could be done without infringing Microsoft's copyrights, but how about its patents? Prior to Bilski, one might give one answer. Now, one might give another." If we

Patent attack on Linux kernel
RHEL is mentioned in this attack on Google's use of the Linux kernel in back-end servers. <http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/04/21/texas_jury_says_google_infringed_linux_patent/> > At least some of those sued were using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) on > the back-end.
