Speex on ARM in Real time
I thought a 416 MHz XScale should be able to encode+decode in real-time at pretty much any narrowband or wideband bit-rate, though in some case, it may be good to reduce the complexity to 1. There may be a few bit-rates that could cause problems because they aren't fully converted to fixed-point. Also, if your ARM chip supports the ARM5E architecture, there may be some big gains you could get

Speex on ARM in Real time
steve, i have run speex succesfully on windows mobile platform. check out our product on www.spokn.com and you can download the smartphone/pocketpc version (yes, the same binary works for both) from http://mobile.spokn.com. we have also made binaries for macintosh (www.spokn.com/spoknmac.dmg) as well as the regular windows xp. the linux client is being readied for fully open-source GPL-ed

XScale realtime encoding possible?
I'm developing a Personalized system of news audible for PDAs(Pocket PC and Palm OS), I have somes PDAs with differents processors(Samsung (2410) 266 MHz, Intel Xscale PXA 250 to 200 and 400 MHz, OMAP1510) with Pocket PC 2002 and 2003, and Palm OS 5 operating system. I offer myself to test any application of speex that runs in these machines, only you must send me the source code. Regards.

[LLVMdev] Help on making doxygen document
Dear Sir or Ms: My OS is ubuntu 12.04(AMD64). I have installed TexLive 2012, Graphviz 2.26.3, doxygen 1.7.6.1 without the dependence doxygen-latex.The version of LLVM I am working on is 3.2. Scaling error
Hi useRs, I ran into an inconsistent output problem again. Here is the simplify illustration I've got a matrix as follows > x V1 V2 V3 [1,] 1 2 3 [2,] 4 5 6 [3,] 7 8 9 Associated with the matrix is a scaling factor, sca, derived from, say the mean of the respective columns, V1-V3; > sca V1 V2 V3 2.5 1.7 3.6

Multilevel in R
Hello, I have difficulties to deal with multilevel model. My dataset is composed of 10910 observations, 1237 plants nested within 17 stations. The data set is not balanced. Response variable is binary and repeated. I tried to fit this model model<- glmmPQL( y ~ z1.lon*lun + z2.lat*lun + z1.lon*lar + z2.lat*lar + z1.lon*sca + z2.lat*sca +z1.lon*eta + z2.lat*eta, random = ~ lun + lar + sca

question regarding compression %
Hi Josh, I made some choices for the encoder based upon how quickly the pocket pc could convert files. I think that I chose flac -0 because of this and also I think that I may have increased the buffer already to 4608. However, I will do some additional testing. The cpu's used are in the ARM family. Xscale (PXA255) as found on the hp 5100/5500 series and 2200 series. The best performer

Encoder for Pocket PCs
Hi developers! I would like to know if it is possible to use Vorbis encoder as a real-time encoder for Pocket PCs, because they don't have floating point based unit. If not, do you plan to make a fixed-point based encoder? I'm very interested in this issue so if I could help, I will. I'm working on fixed-point MP3 encoder for XScale devices in cooperation with Intel. It seems that

lattice logaritmic scale (basis "e" ), rewriting labels using xscale.component
Hi there, sorry for troubling everybody once again, I've got a problem rewriting Sarkar's function for rewriting the tick locations in a logaritmic way (s. http://lmdvr.r-forge.r-project.org/code/Chapter08.R): His example works for log 2 but I need log e (natural logarithm). My problem is that if I replace 2 with "e" (using paste()), I get the error message that the location

Name conflict between Epi and ROC packages
The name conflicts in Epi and ROC packages (2 'ROC' functions are the problem) cause the following code to work once, but not twice: library(MASS); data(cats); x = cats[,2] y = ifelse(cats[,1]=='F',0,1) library(Epi); ROC(x,y,grid=0)$AUC library(ROC); AUC(rocdemo.sca(y, x, dxrule.sca)) What is the standard way of resolving name conflicts? Ask maintainers to resolve

lattice xscale.components: different ticks on top/bottom axis
Good afternoon, I am trying to create a plot where the bottom and top axes have the same scale but different tick marks. I tried user-defined xscale.component function but it does not produce desired results. Can anybody suggest where my use of xscale.component function is incorrect? For example, the code below tries to create a plot where horizontal axes limits are c(0,10), top axis has ticks

ridge regression - covariance matrices of ridge coefficients
For an application of ridge regression, I need to get the covariance matrices of the estimated regression coefficients in addition to the coefficients for all values of the ridge contstant, lambda. I've studied the code in MASS:::lm.ridge, but don't see how to do this because the code is vectorized using one svd calculation. The relevant lines from lm.ridge, using X, Y are:
