RE: build speex-1.0.5 problem (undefined reference to `__strtol_internal')
Dear Jessy,
Did you try to build it by normal gcc first?
Usually, we run as the following steps..
(1) Configure
(2) Make
(3) Mke install
(4) If it works this way, then it means we may need some more libraries in uclibc to build speex .

unable to compile speex-1.1.10
Dear all,
I'm Arun, new in this group. and newbie in Linux also.
I am working on linphone and I want to compile linphone, but before that I
want to compile speex-1.1.10 for uClinux using bfin-gcc.
I used these three files :
uClinux-dist-2005R3.tar.bz2
bfin-gcc-3.4-2005R3.1.tar.gz
speex-1.1.10.tar
I sucessfully compiled and installed bfin-gcc, and

We already decided to use Marvell's 88F8618 platform,
But I have few questions to you and listed it below,

Q2, Based on ARM9 CPU core, do you have any information to let me estimation the voice computing power for Speex codec?
Sorry to bother your job again....

cross compilation for ARM - ogg headers problem
Hi,
this problem seems to be coming up a lot lately -- the README.arm in
linphone tells people to remove libogg headers, but speexenc and
speexdec require them to build.
Perhaps we need a README.arm in libspeex telling people not to remove
the libogg headers.

spx1.1.10 speexenc compile
Hi all,
Been trying to compile speex 1.1.10's speexenc for win32 using Visual C++
6.0 but came up with some errors (abt 33 of them, syntax errors). I just
traced them to a variable called "SPEEX_VERSION" which i think isnt defined
in speexenc but rather defined in misc.h, which wasnt one of the include
files in speexenc... should i add a line that includes misc.h in speexenc? i

Decode win32 encoded files on TI C5x???
I have successfully DECODED speex on TI C5509:
#define TESTENC_BYTES_PER_FRAME 20 /* 8kbps */
#define TESTENC_QUALITY 4 /* 8kbps */
I am trying to generate the files I need with speexenc.exe:
speexenc -n --quality 4 -V male.wav male.spx
But I can't decode the files on C5x.
Yes, I have seen that speexenc.exe adds Ogg header and

patch for compiling on IRIX
The following patch (based off of the current CVS tree) is necessary
to compile Speex on IRIX (or any other system that doesn't include
getopt_long in the system libraries).
I would suggest further that src/getopt_win.h be renamed to getopt_long.h
since it's not just Windows that lacks getopt_long.

Fair enough. Which batch programs should I be looking for? I had a look around,
and could not find any...

There is no such a thing as a "raw Speex format". Also, sampleenc.c and
sampledec.c are good for learning how to use the API, but the compressed
format shouldn't be used in

I tracked this bug a bit further than you. Here is the origin of the crash:
op.packet = (unsigned char *)speex_header_to_packet(&header, (int*)&(op.bytes));
(from speexenc.c)
op.bytes is a long, not an int, it is wrong to pass it as an int,
