Speex on TI C6x, Problem with TI C5x Patch
Hi Jean-Marc, Hi Jim, I have also seen some problems with the 1.1.8 release on the C55x. So far I have boiled down the issues to the following: 1) We need our own "fixed_xx.h" header file. I don't know why, and haven't had time to investigate, but there is a definite improvement when I use the attached fixed_c55x.h file which has turned all the maths into inline functions.

I emailed Jean-Marc the arch.h about one week ago, not quite sure whether he actually received that email. 11kbps narrowband on a 24bit DSP
I've never tried Speex on a 24-bit DSP, but I would suggest actually leaving the code (nearly) as-is. The scaling factors actually should not change because I'm using integer multiplications, not fractional multiplications. So what should happen is that the top 8 bits or 24-bit values and the top 16-bit of 48-bit values will be unused (filled with sign bits). There may be a few cases where

frame size in speex
Dear Speexers :-) I am trying to change the frame size from 20 ms to 10 ms, I did that by changing the value of the frame_size from 160 samples, to 80 samples in the sampleenc.c file. The number of frames increased as expected, but the size of the encoded stream of each frame remain the same! Adding robustness to Speex on wireless networks.
I've not so much bandwidth to add channel coding but i've few bytes to spare for error detection. With a polynomial CRC-8 i've already more than 99.6 % to detect a burst error in a frame. SAMBA eats up all memory...
Hello, I am running SAMBA 2.0.7.0 on AIX 4.3.3.0 I have a 1 Tera Byte filesystem on AIX made available to NT and MAC. There is heavy IO activity on this filesystem and all of a sudden the NT's and MAC's can't read or write any file on this shared filesystem. AMR vs Speex on wireless networks.
In order to develop a Voip application, today i should make it robust to bit-errors over wireless networks. This is an actually lack of Speex, infact what i've understood is that if a packet arrives corrupted, i must pass NULL to the decoder in order to let it know. Average Bit Rate in UWB mode question

The first thing I notice is that because "abr_count" increases without bound, after a while the weight of the bitrate history will completely swamp any change in the current bitrate and the ABR adjustment will essentially stop happening. Reg Fixed point Speex Narrow Band decoding
Hi Marc, I've downloaded the Speex1.2Beta version. In the code still there are some float variables are used for the Narrow band decoding. In the file "nb_celp.c" .93 is getting multiplied with the GAMMA_SCALING [Line number From - 1341 - 1351] Can please tell me weather the 1.2Beta version has complete narrow band decoding in fixed point??
