Steganographic extension to Speex
Hello kind developers, I am planning on creating a steganographic extension for speex/CELP. Since speex/CELP is lossy, there should be quite many bits that one can use for hiding data. I'm familiar with the principles of CELP (two filter loops, one for pitch, the other for formants, let the raw speech frame run through those filter loops, take residue signal, map it on a codebook entry,

hy, here is my speex encoder/decoder .. the sampleRate i use is 16000 and quality, complexity are at 5. can someone take a look in to the code and see if there is something that is making that robot voice here is a link to colored and numbered code, same as below http://barvanjekode.gama.us/temp/1257361243.html thanx. code ----------------------- #include "codec.h"

speexdec 1.2.3
Dear Jean-Marc and Peter: Thank you both very much for your time and advice. I did not realize that Lame MP3 code has a -r option (without reading its code). I have tried the suggested command lines verbatim with the added -r option, along with other combination of option settings. I could not figure out how to eliminate the distortion in the result, like voice turning either high or low

Speex in VB .NET
Hi there, I have searched what seems like everywhere and was unable to find a .NET wrapper so that I can use speex in VB. I did find a speex.NET.dll but this didn't seem to work on what I needed. I therefore decided I could just use DllImport within VB .NET and create my own unmanaged links to libspeex.dll. With the help of this partial c# code

Frozen upper spectrum in WB VBR CNG
Great, thanks! That patch solved it. VBR without DTX seems to work perfectly now. If I enable DTX, there's still a little bit of buzz but it doesn't seem to last very long when it happens. I appreciate the quick fix! Tom Jean-Marc Valin (jean-marc.valin@hermes.usherb.ca) wrote: > > Yep, you found a bug and here's the patch. It should solve your problem > (using VBR

cheb_poly_eva using Clenshaw's recurrence formula
Hi, After reading the paper entitled "The Computation of Line Spectral Frequencies Using Chebyshev Polynomials", P. Kabal and R. Ramachandran, IEEE Trans. on ASSP, Vol. 34, No. 6, December 1986, I rewrite the function cheb_poly_eva in lsp.c using the Clenshaw's recurrence formula, as described, for example, in Numerical Recipes in C, Second Edition (5.5 and 5.8) : static float

something wrong with narrowband and ultra-wideband?
I downloaded speex-1.2beta3-win32 binaries, and used the speexenc.exe and speexdec to process the file male.wav download from http://speex.org/samples I used both the narrowband and ultra-wideband mode: >speexenc -n --quality 3 male.wav n3.spx Encoding 8000 Hz audio using narrowband mode (mono) >speexdec n3.spx n3.wav Decoding 8000 Hz audio using narrowband mode (mono) Encoded with Speex

narrowband embedded in wideband
Is there any way to access only the narrowband portion of a wideband stream? I'd like to be able to encode the audio only once, but allow members in a conference to have some rough selection of bandwidth, and allow them to move to a lower-bitrate stream if there is a need to do so. Thanks, Matthias -- Matthias Granberry matthias@utdallas.edu (469) 371-0596 --- >8 ---- List archives:

narrowband embedded in wideband
It looks like I'll need to go further into the guts of speex to do this. I do, however, see some lines in nb_celp.c/nb_decode() that look interesting. I guess I'll play with it. I doubt that it will be terribly clean, though. Jean-Marc: Take a look at line 1195 in nb_celp.c (CVS). It reads "speex_warning ("More than to wideband layers found: corrupted

using speex in C#
Hi SAITAMA Taro, I have been using speex-1.2beta1 dll in our voice application written with C#. In order to use Speex correctly firstly I advice to you examination speexenc and speexdec projects. I have used unsafe code and fixed statements in C#. I have added following method to library and I used that instead of speex_encoder_init simply. void *speex_encoder_init_new(int modeID) { const

Seg fault speex encoder initialize
Hi All, I am trying to use Speex + PyAudio to convert voice to text using Google Speech API. I downloaded PyAudio Source, PortAudio and Speex and installed portaudio, followed by pyaudio with static link and then speex also I installed. I am able to import both speex and pyaudio into python fine. But when I call these functions: e = speex.Encoder() e.initialize(speex.SPEEX_MODEID_UWB) I get a
