partial matches across rows not columns
Hi R users,
I am trying to omit rows of data based on partial matches an example of my
data (seal_dist) is below:
A quick break down of my coding and why I need to answer this - I am dealing
with a colony of seals where for example A1 is a female with pup and A1.1 is
that female's pup, the important part of the data here is DIST which tells
the distance between one seal (ID) and another

Compile flags for sampleenc sampledec.
I suspect I am missing something basic but I do not seem to be able to get the sampleenc and sampledec programs to work together. I think I do not have a compile swtich of flag set correctly.
Backgound information:
1) 1.0.4 tar package 'make' worked and installed on a mandrake 10.0 linux
2) speexenc and speexdec appear to work fine.
3) testenc and testenc_wb work fine, though I

Problems with sampleenc and sampledec
I suspect I am missing something basic but I do not seem to be able to get the sampleenc and sampledec programs to work together. I suspect the decode operation is failing, but I cannot find out why.
Backgound information:

I can't get the versions of sampleenc and sampledec in the manual to
work back-to-back. I've tried using speex 1.0.4 and 1.1.6. What am I
doing wrong?

AIC on GLMM pscl package
Hello,
I'm using GLMM on the pscl package and i'm not getting the AIC on the
summary.
The code i'm using is (example) :
mmall3 <-glmmPQL(allclues ~ cycloc + male, data=dados, family=poisson,

and the results:

i need a help in getting some files which are missing in speex-1.2 beta 2
Sir,
iam a PG student doing thesis work in CELP based speech coding
i need to implement the same in ti-6416 kit and i have seen the open
source "speex.org"
but i found 3 files missing in the source files package
the files are the following :
1. types.h
2. alloca.h
3. _G_config.h
also i haven't got the source files ( *.snd files and *.dat files) to
be encoded

Lmer plot help
Hello all
I'm running the lme4 package on my binomial data, and I'm happy with the
model and the resultant plot. However, I'd like to plot my table data, which
has: two IVs, and one DV. You can see an example below, where 'attractive'
= question (IV), male = condition(IV/predictor) and no/yes = answer (dv).

I maintain a heterogenous network with a shared LDAP account database.
The user accounts have globally unique user names, UIDs and RIDs.
Some, but not all accounts are valid on all machines, but there is no
need for samba to care about this, because there simply won't be a
unix account for invalid users. There are no MS servers involved, and

"rsync --delete" won't delete certain files
Hi,
as I just discovered, in recent versions of rsync the "--delete" option
seems to not work in certain cases. I couldn't come up with a simple
scenario to reproduce the problem, so I'll have to tell the whole story:
I use rsync to regularly backup a system onto other disks. The filesystems

SOS: removal of "--with-ldapsam" configuration option

tricky rsync setup quit working

some time ago I had started working on a rsync-based backup system.
After I longer break; I now tried to continue this project but can't

mount.cifs: iocharset/codepage
I am trying to access a share on a samba server using charset
iso8859-1 from a client using the same charset via CIFS.
"smbmount" has separate options for the server/client charset,
using "codepage=cp850,iocharset=iso8859-1" gets the correct
behavior in my case.
Unfortunately, the parameter for specifying the server codepage
doesn't seem to exist in "mount.cifs"

LPRng and Samba: Problems with print queue administration
Hi,
could it be that recent versions of samba have some problems when
collaborating with LPRng? I have a bunch of windows clients printing
via Samba and LPRng and ran into the following problems:
- In my environment it is desirable that people can kill other
people's print jobs. LPRng is configured accordingly and works
correctly. The corresponding Samba shares have no restrictions on
