Build under XP with mingw: again about wave_out modules
Hi, i'm Elio again.
I really don't know if the problem is in mingw32 suite but i have more
data now (my knowledge is growing!!! :-o ).
I successfully compiled several packages on my system (MSYS-1.0.10 +
MinGW32-3.4.2 under WinXPsp2) and here are the details:
- the mp3 player madplay-0.15.2 goes ok. It uses the same approach, it
opens the wave device using the waveOutOpen() call and it

patch to crosscompile with mingw32 on linux
according to my little knowledge about automake,
its not possible to put variables in _SOURCES.
so something like
speexdec_SOURCES = speexdec.c wav_io.c $(WIN32_OBJ)
is not possible. but than i looked into wave_out.c and
the entire source is surrounded by
#if defined WIN32 || defined _WIN32
so it will just disappear than build on linux.

Echo Cancellation Problem -- with sound sample
Hello all,
I am trying out the echo cancellation of Speex (1.2beta2) on Windows XP. I use the Windows Media API (i.e. waveInOpen, waveOutOpen etc) for playback and capture, but I cannot make echo cancellation works in my use case. Here is a description of what I tried: (the sound is in 8kHz and 16 bits per sample, the frame size is 240, tail_length is long enough to cover the far end to near end

Ogg Player Code
Hello,
In one of my recent assignments, I was asked to develop a ogg player.
I am not able to find the right repository of the source code. There are few repositories on vorbis but I am not clear which one is the right one for Windows environment.
If somebody has successfully compiled any ogg player ever, his ideas will be helpful to me.
In one of the code set, I was able to compile the

Winamp plugin skips?
In my cpu, with winamp2.7 and in_vorbis.dll(v0.1), the track skips at the end of the song...It's like it plays the last 1/10th of a sec twice... And it only happens when playing to to the system's sound card, that is, when i play it with winamp's disk_output plugin, the track is decoded correctly...
Has it happened to anyone yet? Coz i haven't seen anyone talking about it...

Problem compiling opus-tools-0.1.7
Hi
I'm having a problem compiling opus-tools-0.1.7.
Version opus-tools-0.1.6 seems to compile OK.
I've tried with opus-1.0.3 and opus-1.1-beta.
The errors are like this:-
"undefined reference to `sqrtf'" etc.
This OS is Peppermint Three, similar to Ubuntu 12.04.
It uses:-
gcc --version
gcc (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) 4.6.3
Google says it's maybe something to do

Echo Cancellation Problem -- with sound sample
Thank you for you quick reply, Jean-Marc.
I have just used a human voice to replace the sine wave, but the result is like a broken voice after tens of seconds. Do you have some sample voice in .sw that I can test with? I want to have one set or a few sets of sample voice that work for my understanding and debugging.
This is the output from echo_diagnostic.m in my human voice test:

[PATCH 0/1] opusenc support for WavPack input
This patch to opus-tools adds optional support to WavPack
lossless format as input to opusenc.
Like support to FLAC, it depends on an external library,
libwavpack, and may be disabled on configure.

speexdec 1.2.3
Dear Jean-Marc and Peter:
Thank you both very much for your time and advice. I did not realize that Lame MP3 code has a -r option (without reading its code). I have tried the suggested command lines verbatim with the added -r option, along with other combination of option settings. I could not figure out how to eliminate the distortion in the result, like voice turning either high or low
