Hi,
i'm following encoder example in the manual.pdf of speex documentation. Here's

Newbie - Encoding PCM
Hi all,
i've to encode voice from a voicemodem. I choose speex 1.0.5 for its quality
in voice encoding. I've tried to implement an encoder but unsuccesfully.
Here's my code:

Multiple frames in packet
Hi, what is the good way to encode / decode multiple frames in packet ? I
read that I must do multiple call to encode and thats it. But when I'm
trying to decode,, it doesn't work. Maybe, the problem is my decode
function.
Here is my encode function

Where can I find the implementation of function speex_encode( )
Hi, Guys
I am starting looking the source code of Speex. Maybe a little silly, but
I can not find the implementation of the function speex_encode().
Only something like below
void speex_encode(void *state, float *in, SpeexBits *bits)

(*((SpeexMode**)state))->enc(state, in, bits);
}
Does that mean some of the detail implementation is embedded in lib
without source code?

What is the format of the PCM/WAV data for speex_encode & speex_decode?
Speex 1.0.3 uses floats, but the unstable version 1.1.x uses short.

speex_encode / speex_encode_int ... already sorry =)
I always think short is better over float, because most of the time we don't
get float form data, from, e.g microphone / wav files

It really depends on your framework. Hardware generally uses integer
samples, but a number of newer software systems use float. On modern
host cpus it's just as fast and you don't

I'm confused about the format of the PCM/WAV data for speex_encode &
speex_decode
speex_encode(enc_state, input_frame, &bits);
In the manual, it says "input_frame is a (float *) pointing to the beginning
of a speech frame" (for encode)
But I've found that in speexenc.c and testenc.c, short* is used instead of
float*

filter, even no VBR. But i *really* want to use less mem/cpu i can.

[LLVMdev] -msse3 can degrade performance
I just remembered an anomalous result that I stumbled upon whilst tweaking the
command-line options to llvm-gcc. Specifically, the -msse3 flag does a great
job improving the performance of floating point intensive code on the
SciMark2 benchmark but it also degrades the performance of the int-intensive
Monte Carlo part of the test:
$ llvm-gcc -Wall -lm -O3 *.c -o scimark2

bug fix for speex_resampler_reset_mem?
I'm using resample.c from speex in my project, and was testing it by
processing the same waveform twice, with a reset() call in the middle,
as follows:
short *input_data = read_waveform_as_linear(infileName, &rate,

SpeexResamplerState *state = speex_resampler_init_frac(num_channels,

ayuda frecuencia asistencia clase
Estimados usurios-R:
Tengo una lista de alumnos.
Hay alguna forma de sacar una tabla de frecuencias por la asistencia a
clases mensual.
Es decir cuantos días concurrió cada alumno en el mes.
Supongamos que la lista está conformada por ocho alumnos, el curso duró 4
días y quiero saber cuantos días concurrió cada uno al curso poniendolo en
la columna mes.
Quisiera obtener un cuadro así:
