Speex hardware requirements?
Compared to todays PDAs the GameBoy Advance (GBA) is low spec. it has a
16MHz ARM7tdmi RISC processor. 32-bit but it can handle 16-bit
instructions in a mode that resembles "bytecode" (a 32-bit instruction
is executed using a 16-bit instruction). I got a feeling that the GBA
would need a FPU.
For more information on the GBA visit this info page:

Speex hardware requirements?
Also, you would be sattisfied with the narrowband decoding because the
GBA sound quality isn't very good, however, that depends greatly on what
you're going to do with speex on a GBA.... (an RPG with audio dialogs?
;-)) also, using a DSP in a GBA Cartridge sounds like overkill to me,
however, that depends greatly on what are you developing and what's your
target audience....

Speex hardware requirements?
I think narrowband decoding should work then (at least if you disable
perceptual enhancement). As for wideband, it would at least require
shortcuts in the QMF (replacing with IIR filter) to work.

Speex hardware requirements?
Hi,
Decoding Speex is really cheap (about 10x faster than encoding). I
expect most PDAs (no FPU) will be able to decode Speex at 16 kHz in
real-time. I have no idea what CPU the Gameboy advance uses, so I can't
say.

alloca() problem with CodeWarrior
Thanks for the http://vorbis.com link. That worked. But I looked in the
download area and there is no SDK for Mac OS 9. So I am compiling the vorbis
code directly into my app.
The problem I am having now is that the CodeWarrior 5.0 compiler has a bug
with alloca(). It allocates the area on the stack but, under some
circumstances, it does not restore the stack pointer at the end of the
routine.

Speex and Symbian
Hi every one,
I know that speex suports Symbian now in the unstable release but I
wounder if any one can compile a decoder for Symbian MMF? I have googled
for one but ending up with only "yes, speex suports Symbina" and no
binary.
I would use it to finaly listen on my audiobooks but I think it would be a
good demonstration aplication.

Problems with samba AD
Hi there,
?
I'm currently trying samba 4 as an Active Directory Domain Controller on a Debian Jessie server. I don't find a solution to two problems, maybe somebody can help me.
?
First on I can't get anaonymous login (Guest) working. I'm able to log on account nobody by using smbclient, but when trying to logon from a Windows 7 or 8 client, authentification is not working.

PDA as source client
Has anybody used anything other than a PC as a source for icecast2? Are
PDAs powerfull enough? I know vorbis encoding takes a signifigant amount
of CPU power, but I've been able to do it on 4 year old PCs. Does a
206MHz Intel StrongARM 32-bit RISC processor have as much power as a 200
Mhz Pentium?
I'm thinking Compaq iPaq, running Familiar Linux and IceS, would make a
nice portable

On recent x86 processors, floating point is faster than fixed-point.

rsync for PDAs?
I've been working for the past few months with open-source solutions for
syncing Palm PDAs (Coldsync, mostly). I've been becoming increasingly
annoyed with Palm's Desktop Link Protocol and the sync mechanism, and am
considering replacing it with a third-party application for the Palm. Since
I've had good luck with rsync in the past, its seemed an obvious choice.
I've

Can LLVM emit machine code faster with no optimization passes?

llvm is actually extremely slow when it has to remove lots of dead code.

Cube rotation
Hi,
First of all I would like to say that I love the work you are doing.
Xgl/compiz is a great project! I really appreciate what you are doing :)
However, there is one feature that I'm missing, or rather the possibility to
disable another feature. I would like to be able to use multiple viewports,
but I don't want the rotation animation. Sure, rotating the desktop to
switch viewport is

Flat file as storage backend or what ...
Hi.
I''m just starting out with Rails. I''m thinking of writing a web based
PIM, partly as a learning experience, partly because I need one. I''ll
be using iCalendar and vCard files for for storage because it will let
me sync with PDAs, and use other already available PIMs.
What would be the best practice for this?
