Vorbis with BCB
After downloading the nightly snapshot last night, I've spent a good
part of the day trying to build the package with Borland C++Builder
4. I have some things to report, and also need some help.
[Note: this message is long and messy :)]
{Converting DSP files to BPR files}
I made the necessary BPR files from the DSP files with the Visual
C++ Project Conversion Utility. This works okay

logistic regression
Hello,
I have a problem concerning logistic regressions. When I add a quadratic
term to my linear model, I cannot draw the line through my scatterplot
anymore, which is no problem without the quadratic term.
In this example my binary response variable is "incidence", the explanatory
variable is "sun":

BCB build successful?
Ha ha! I'm don't know what change I made that cleared up the
errors, but I can figure that out later. Of course, I immediately
tested my new oggenc.
Using the same input file and default options, I get these results:

Problem with shlwapi, msxml and Borland xml vcls.
After get bcb working, I'm now trying to get working also my
application, so that can be used under wine (no, I can't port it, it's a
tool that works with Ultima Online, so I need to write it for windows &
wine). The problem now is that i have some problems running the
executable.
First note: if I set a breakpoint into the code, I can run the software
with bcb and use the Just In

Borland C++ Builder 6.0 & Wine
Hi all,
I need to use BCB6 with Wine to develop a software that uses two ocxs
built with MS Visual C++.
I set ole32, oleaut, typelib to native for bcb, else it doesn't start
correclty. After that, BCB start up, I can design the forms, write the
code, but I have two problems that block me:
a) when I press the Execute button, the units are compiled, but the
linker hangs up with all the cpu used

OMF static LIBs for Borland ?
Hi,
I have a problem and I hope that someone, possibly someone from Vorbis
developing team, could help me out.
My question is:
"Are there OggVorbis static libraries in OMF format that can be statically
linked to a Borland C++ Builder compiled applications?"
Static LIBs that I found in Vorbis Win32 SDK are in COFF format, and
therefore I was only able to link dynamically to DLLs.

Underscores in BCB making vorbisfile unusable
I use Borland C++ Builder 3 and I'm having trouble getting vorbisfile to work. This version of C++ Builder prefixes function names with underscores, so in the .obj file ov_open would look like _ov_open. Now, when linking the .obj files, it looks for the function _ov_open in all other .obj files and .lib files in the project. It finds none, and gives me an unresolved external error. I can

Borland compiler
Has anyone compiled the ogg and vorbis libraries with borlands c compiler
(bcc32)? If so, are there any makefiles or similar available which can
make it easier for me to do the same?

Building vorbis - please help
I realize not many people (one :) ) want to build vorbis with BCB,
but what about vorbisfile.c, os.h, oggenc.c, and getopt? And
someone must care about the MSVC files. I really tried not to
bring up any questions about BCB itself (although I had some).
Please, someone, take a look at the original message, and excuse
me if I'm too impatient...

Patch for setwd() to show path in error message
Below is a patch for setwd() to show path in error message. Current
it just gives error messages such as:
Error in setwd(libdir) : cannot change working directory
with the patch it should (read untested) give:
Error in setwd(libdir) : cannot change working directory to 'path/that/fails/'

DLLs using Borland
I wrote a DLL in C that does some MCMC stuff. It is compiled using
Borland's C++ Builder, version 3.0 (build 3.70) on a Windows 98 machine.
The DLL loads and runs just fine. But then if I subsequently call R's
plot() function, I get an illegal operation message and R crashes. In
fact, I've found that this happens even if I merely load the DLL, don't
ever run it, and then try to

Borland compiler issues
Where can I download stable RC2 source code? I've downloaded the nightly
CVS, but it seems unusable right now. The Windows SDK does not appear
to include source code or Borland compatible libraries.
One thing I've noticed about the nightly CVS code is that the nested
alloca() calls seem to confuse Borland's compiler. I had to change
code in mapping0_forward() from:

Overflow in psy.c
In beta 3 (Windows, libvorbis-1.0beta3.zip, compiled using BCB), I get
a runtime overflow on line 322 when encoding a simple pure tone
(44100Hz, 96kbps, 128kbps, or 160kbps). Changing the float to a double
avoids the problem.
float val=decay[i]*decscale;
float att=fabs(f[i]/val); /// floating point overflow

Making Knitr work
Might not be the best place to ask, but i could get lucky..
I have setup an eclipse environment to write sweave files lately and wanted to switch to knitr. I could get it to work on easy files, but my earlier written sweave file fails to be knit properly.
Here is the error message:

Questions about License and so on.
Hello there.
I'm seeing with a third party library vendor, wich creates components for
signal and audio processing for Delphi and BCB, the way to integrate support
for OggVorbis, but there are some license issues that I don't
know/understand.
In plain text: can he create and distribute a component that uses the code
available in the Windows SDK, either in the DLL presentation and/or

Updated BCC projects
In response to requests, I've given my vorbis BCC projects a thorough
cleaning. They are now much more professional, complete, and include a
little documentation. Ogg Vorbis 1.0 ready! The new files are available here:
http://dave.gasaway.org/vorbis/vorbis_bcc.zip
At this time, they cannot compile with the free command-line tools available
from Borland. If anyone can help make
